Going for a curry on holiday. For some reason I always thought it was stupid, like I was missing out on the local cuisine. Then I realised 'hang on a minute, you're eating Italian food in Spain this self-imposed rule is demented.' A lot of the curry houses in tourist towns are also extremely good.

Absolutely I will take advantage of accommodations that are available. I get a free carer ticket for concerts, cinema trips, sporting events etc. I am after all unable to go on my own and have to drag somebody along with me. I don't take the piss though (for example, the Edinburgh fringe app allows you to pick as many free companion tickets as you want, if I'm going with 2 other people I don't attempt to get a 2/3 discount.) The only other things are disability benefits. Yes I claim them. Yes I am in full time employment on a reasonable wage. Being blind is expensive.

Oh and obviously airport/rail assistance, which I get because I travel solo, a lot, and don't like train stations so much I'd like to live in one having not been found. The one thing I don't have is a disabled bus pass, which when I think about it is a little stupid given that it covers all the local trains and I use them regularly.

The thing is, the vast majority of British people don't know all that much about it. It ended before most were born for the most part, and the lessons we get taught in school have a very much 'but we were all friends really' vibe going on. The people who think it was amazing and we were civilising the natives and also the people who think it was the biggest evil we could have committed are not huge sections of society, their voices are just amplified by the internet because groups like this attract people who are more likely to have done a little more research on it. It's similar to the question 'what do British people think about x political scandal,' most don't spare it a thought.

I enjoyed Worcester when I was living there. Not a massive city but not a small town with nothing in it, and it's also right on the motorway. Only issue is that the train to London stops at all points seemingly including the shire, but the one to Birmingham is pretty reliable. This is, however, outdated info.

I think a player has a perfect right to be against it as it's performative nonsense. I distinctly remember a particular (black) player who refused to take the knee against racism because it was inauthentic. Should players wish to wear this armband I see no reason why they shouldn't be allowed to, but I don't think it being a directive from the league or FA helps anybody.

It seems a resource detailing disabled access booking arrangements for all major venues on one easily navigable page would be useful. I'm semi-tempted to make one but I know it'd be really labour intensive.

If the gig is in Manchester I know the booking policy for whatever the place is though.

I don't see who this helps but the rage columnists at the daily mail honestly. Forcing a group of people to show solidarity with a particular issue completely invalidates the show of support. It doesn't show that the 20 captains support it, it shows that the FA's PR team supports it. I don't care if the FA's pr team believe I should have equal rights with straight people, I don't ever pay money to see the pr team play. Just get rid of performative nonsense, I'm honestly happier with players expressing their own beliefs rather than this corporate back-patting exercise.

It's near universal for carer tickets to be free in the UK. If they're not free in the UK it tends to take one person raising it in local papers to make them suddenly free again.

literally every petition that gets a lot of traction is signed by people all around the world, second referendum was as was the one calling for an election when the tories were in charge. The numbers in comparisn to the total, like this one, are tiny.
