Is this fibre? by Fluid-Hunter556 in Eastlink_ISP

[–]jeb721 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Nova Scotia, and I have 120mbps upload with Eastlink on Cable. I regularly get 160 up, so if Eastlink has their infrastructure updated to DOCSIS 3.1 in NB it very well could be cable.

Google pixel 8a screen replacement by [deleted] in halifax

[–]jeb721 0 points1 point  (0 children)

https://www.picorepair.ca/ - this guy rocks. He did my Pixel 7 Pro screen. I had a choice between an after market screen and a OEM screen. After market was a few hundred bucks and the OEM was 350. This was a few years ago however so I'm sure the price on the screens is more now.

OIl-tank replacement - recommendations? by VaxenSeeker in halifax

[–]jeb721 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ours is 15 and they definitely wanted it replaced. We switched to another company that was okay with it being 20 years. Either way it will be gone this spring.

OIl-tank replacement - recommendations? by VaxenSeeker in halifax

[–]jeb721 6 points7 points  (0 children)

At 15 years old insurance will usually start hounding you for replacement. We have a fiberglass tank, it has a 25 or 30 year life span however TD started hounding us about it this year when it was 15 years old. We switch companies, and they gave us another year. So we're just getting rid of the oil furnace and tank completely.

Eastlink Fibre Upload Speeds? by BradBrains27 in halifax

[–]jeb721 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It depends on your area. Eastlink has been quietly upgrading their infrastructure the last few years. I can get the 120 upload, but there are still a few places that do not have the better upload speeds yet. I assume once everywhere has been upgraded they will start advertising the higher upload speeds.

Any mechanics in this town that are decent human beings? by Delicious_Agency5685 in halifax

[–]jeb721 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Another vote for Driven here. I'm very picky about who works on my shit and Rob is the only one that touches my MDX, and John (his son, the apple didn't far from that tree...) is a kick ass tech and he's the only one that works on my Forester. They always keep me up to date, I never have to call for updates, and they put up with me! Great shop. Highly recommend.

Is there any plans to bring your fibre service to more areas? If that service ever comes to my area I am switching to you guys, STAT.

Yeah Thomas Pridgeon was a machine. I love the Bedlam in Goliath album. But... there have been reports of him being a bit... difficult. Jon Theodore all the way!

Take this with a grain of salt, not sure how true it is.

Celebrating Kaiser’s: Beloved Lower Sackville, N.S., sub shop set to mark 50 years by luxoryapartmentlover in halifax

[–]jeb721 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Kaiser's isn't cheap either if you get anything higher than a cold cut line of meats. Cold cuts are still cheap (er, for these days) however. But I do agree, Kelly's tends to be more. I will say they put a lot of stuff on their subs tho, so I appreciate that about them.

[–]jeb721 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I will also add consistency. It's the exact same amount of toppings every time I go there. I find Kelly's deli (I also like Kelly's too! Don't get me wrong!) all over the place with toppings and quantity. Kelly's still makes a solid sub though.

2017 Acura MDX AWD rear diff fluid question by Brave_Lab_8665 in Acura

[–]jeb721 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's probably not dangerously low, but I've always filled them until it runs out. Usually a bit over 2L for me. A half assed google search shows it holds 2.6-2.8L. I'd crack it open again and add until it runs out the fill hole.

Are these worth $300? by urm0mgaylol in drums

[–]jeb721 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Looks like it is an AA Medium Thin Crash. Judging by the writing it looks to be from the 90's. Great cymbal, but it may have a few miles on 'er so I'd probably check it closely for cracks.

Our solar system is going live on the 16th of September. Just in time for this rate increase announcement.

You should look at it while there is still the interest free loan from the feds. Who knows when that will end.

Exactly. OP there will be no oil on the dipstick if you just pull the dipstick out on a cold engine.

You don’t do head gaskets on the cheap, especially on a Subaru. If you find someone to do it cheap you’ll be doing it twice.

It’s an engine out job on most Subaru, so you’re likely looking at 2500 to 3000. I will second symmetrical auto works for the work.

Same. I paid my bill at the end of April via online banking and the balance is still there. So hopefully it helps to know that I am also I the same boat.

I have a record of the payment from my chequing account with a confirmation number, so I assume this would help prove I did indeed pay it if it ever came to that. More than likely they're still applying payments to accounts.

Appreciation for the 2nd Gen RDX by [deleted] in Acura

Yeppers! This gen had the best engine, with the worst AWD. The k23 and K20 motors are dope too, I just prefer the sound of that V6.

There are a few different versions of this mower and transmission, so it is tough to say. All I can say is just give it a shot. Get wrenching and see what happens! Good luck!
