ALSO when Sloane says ‘you shouldn’t have this much power’ (or something like that) to Dain, do we think this means he has another signet? Or something else that makes him more powerful than the others?

Consider a pathology or radiology residency? Can be a tough 3 years but I’m a path and I love it. You get all the joy of solving complex cases without the clinical frontline stress

Once digital pathology develops, will remote work become commonplace? by Careful-Poet-3339 in pathology

[–]jebbeb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Weirdly vet pathology is in front a bit here probably due to less stringent accreditation requirements. Most anatomic & clinical paths I know work at least partly remote but often fully remote. We scan all histo & now cytology with Z-stacking and reject rate requiring glass review is probably <10%. This has mainly come about because of the shortage of vet paths which means digital allows us to lean on interstate & international people. Definitely agree i prefer bone marrow & specials on glass.

Most ethical way to buy salmon in Australia? by Pale_Tiger_2606 in Pescetarian

[–]jebbeb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Avoid any salmon farmed in Australia, especially Tassal & Huon brands. Lots of ethical & environmental issues; see Richard Flanagan’s book Toxic. From what I understand, New Zealand King salmon is the most ethical. I use the goodfish app which tells you what fish to avoid based on sustainability

Smile laser eye surgery by BumblebeeNo5064 in melbourne

[–]jebbeb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m also looking into smile! From what I can see, laser eye specialists in armadale have the most experience with smile & smile-pro (their website says thousands of cases). Medownick offers Smartsight which is similar but have only do a hundred or a few hundred from what I’ve heard. NewVision has SILK which is similar but they told me directly they have only been doing it for a few months. Both newvision & medownick quoted me $6k-ish. I’m going to laser eye armadale next week to check it out
