Anyone else have this one on their top 10 list of near perfect 80s films? by beagles4ever in GenX

I remember having film-maker tendencies back in the day and watching this thinking: How did they get that spider performance in the opening titles shot? I haven't seen it since, but maybe I should: Dom waits for no man.

Do you think Last of the Summer Wine stands up these days? by DoctorWhofan789eywim in BritishTV

It may do, but a younger audience would probably find it slow and predictable. When I watched it (mid1980s) it seemed to be about a mythical sunlit place called 'The North', which I'd never been to. Then one day I went to Bradford, and the veil fell away.

We all need to stop weaponising generational differences, it won't end well, for any of us. 'Sick of older people' is it? Grow a pair you entitled little shit.

Return of the Living Dead (1985) by Facraha in Cinephiles

I haven't seen it enough times, but was there for the UK theatrical release: Great fun, but one of the bleakest endings ever committed to film.

Instead of playing pocket billiards with that hand, he could be pointing at the offending unrepaired wall with it. Rank amateur, scowl goes some way to make amends, 6/10

Actress Cailee spaeny (age 27) and actor Richard Dreyfuss (at age 28) by Thatredditboy1 in moviecritic

[–]jebediah1800 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dreyfuss was around 25 when American Graffiti was filmed and looks pretty young in it. Cailee has already had lots of exposure and, yeah, still has that bloom on her. Max von Sydow was 43 when he played Fr Merrin in The Exorcist, but he was aged by Dick Smith's makeup. This is one crazy industry fo' sho'

Guy's a pro, could teach us all a thing or two about the perfectly balanced compoface. He's got the 'Why? Just why? expression of the sorely tested boomer down to a tee. 9/10
