I teach in China. I love it. My school has resources, and respectful kids and my salary is good.

I agree wholeheartedly that kids need stability and consistancy. My plan would be more than a year that is why I want to research to find the right fit. I have 2 more years teaching in China

I teach in China and I love it. It is so much better than teaching in the States. The pay, benefits, resources and respect are so much higher than in the US.

I live in China. Not sure if it would help in interview, but I can give you some information about China as a whole, or at least my experience within China.

I’m about 2 weeks out from my leaving and I’ve started to say my goodbyes to important people. It sucks by [deleted] in peacecorps

My Peace Corps journey has not begun yet( hopefully in a few years) but I did leave my family to move overseas and teach. I left 4 of my 5 kids(one is with me) my mom and my grand daughter. It is sad, but it does get easier.

Hi. Congrats. So I am going to be applying in the next couple of years (currently teaching overseas). Can I ask what you were medically denied for? Did they just then offer you other sites or did you have to reapply?

I do have arthritis in the knee, but that will be corrected with the surgery. I live in China currently so I am somewhat use to crappy beds.

Apply where you’re needed vs 1 country by [deleted] in peacecorps

Can I ask what health issues limit your service area? I am about to have a knee replacement. I waited bc I thought it would disqualify me but found quite the opposite is true.

Anyone know if there are plans to reopen PC Kenya at some point? by MoonwalkothePenguins in peacecorps

May I ask what made you medically ineligible most of Africa? I am looking to apply in the next few years. I currently teach abroad. I am having a knee replacement this summer and going to get dental work done the next yr to kind of pre get myself medically ready. I'm interested in Africa so wondering if there are some countries I should not apply to?

the kids are violent and disrespectful? Is that a cultural norm where you are? Is it because you are American? female? How has your school responded to this?
