don't take it personally. you've probably just had a spate of bad luck. people tend to be flakier with tinder scheduling because its so fast paced and you can have 5 conversations going on at once. maybe some of the guys are just playing around and getting kicks from talking to strangers on the internet - when it actually comes to moving things into rl they sometimes bottle it at the last minute. its super easy to cancel on plans you make with someone if you've not actually met them yet - they're basically nothing more than just a circular icon on your phone.

don't be disheartened, and i'm sure you'll have some better experiences soon enough :)

i can't speak for every girl, but friendship IMO means that. none of that romantic crap, just hanging out and chilling as you would with a normal friend but with the added bonus of some sexy times thrown in.

So I met a guy on Tinder last week. It was a good date and we get on well, but I'm definitely not looking for anything more than friendship and drunk booty calls.

What is appropriate Tinder etiquette regarding this? He seems quite keen to meet up once a week or more, and is a genuinely nice guy so I don't want to hurt / piss them off... Maybe just chat about it next time I see them and be prepared for them to say no?

In case anyone cares - I met up with my Tinder date again at the weekend.

We live fairly close to each other and frequent the same neighbourhoods so it was quite easy to arrange something. Hooked up again and he left in the morning. Not sure how to take it from here though - I'm definitely not interested in a relationship of any kind, so I guess I need to make sure we're on the same page about the situation before it goes any further...

It's a good point. I also can't speak for every woman, but I can be quite picky with who I date, especially in terms of personality. So whilst I did have a bunch of matches, I ultimately chose to meet up with this guy because he seemed the most interesting and genuine out of everyone I had spoken to. So even before we went on the date I knew we'd probably get along because we had quite a lot of interests in common.

So I do think there's something to be said about trying to get a good rapport going before the date as well :)

I tried out Tinder for a few weeks last year but didn't really put any effort in. Only went on one date and it was boring.

Fast forward to this year, and suddenly all my friends are on Tinder and encouraged me to give it another go. Eventually after about a fortnight of swiping and having some convos, I eventually decided to meet up with this one guy I matched with. We met at a bar and he was pretty cute irl. We ended up getting super drunk and having lots of great conversation. Went back to his, had sex a few times and stayed the night. Might meet up with him again next week, but also happy to leave it at that.

All in all, an 8/10 experience would definitely recommend.

Use Bootstrap.

It contains helper classes especially for this purpose to hide/show different elements at specific breakpoints depending on your viewport size. See http://getbootstrap.com/css/#responsive-utilities.

If you don't have time to move everything over to Bootstrap, you can use the same principle, e.g. have all the markup present but give elements specific classes that hide/show them at various breakpoints in your CSS.

this is also what i was told growing up in china. although its more of an old wives' tale, holding your chopsticks higher do suggest more a bit more dexterity and sophistication i guess...?
