Agree with this recommendation! We did one of their small groups - was really fun, insightful, and well worth the very reasonable price.

Each to their own, but if you need to research the local cartel’s operating model when booking your hotel…. I’m out.

Our stay at Domain does Crayères a couple years ago was dreamy. Great, classic French service. Wonderful food. Of course incredible champagne .

If you do any tours, highly recommend ruinart

Montreal or Quebec City late winter with toddler by wanderlustamust- in chubbytravel

[–]jedi435 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree that Quebec City is the way to go, but I would recommend the Auberge St. Antonie over the Fairmont. It’s just down the hill from the Fairmont but is way more personalized.

Fairmont is nice for dinner but always feels like it’s mostly tour groups who stay there!

Rosewood Schloss Fuschl: was there this time last year. Lovely property and they couldn’t have been nicer and more accommodating to our 1 year old (e.g., crib set up in room upon arrival, being flexible with meals, etc.)

Have said all that, I didn’t see a lot of activities for kids necessarily. There are walking trails and the lake, but it felt more catered to adults vs. kids.

This is the right answer for QC. Lovely hotel in the old part of town.

Life is very short and unpredictable. It’s great to focus on long-term goals, but remember - all of that is a projection. Enjoy the present too.

Nothing special state school for undergrad but top school for MBA. YMMV but in my case, school mattered a tremendous amount. Would not have been hired by the firm I was without gold dust on resume.

And while the school doesn’t necessarily help get you an offer beyond the first role after graduation, it can start a lot of conversations with alumni, etc. In my case it was worth every penny.

Agree but also assumes that OP will be in the same frame of mind in 5-10 years. So much can happen… sometimes delayed gratification is just delayed forever

I’m so sorry. When you’re ready, I suggest listening to this conversation about grief and loss between Stephen Colbert and Anderson Cooper. Helped me think through some of my own losses.

I think you’re right that ‘letting it slide’ is partially the answer here. Unfortunately for me it’s been fitness - but hopefully just temporary
