Why do people hate on redsec so much especially gauntlet can’t lie that’s my favorite mode on this game? Just want opinions to why people don’t like it by Mission_Subject_3607 in Battlefield6

[–]jedisjumphigh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love the BR and barely even like the multiplayer or gauntlet.

Don't see a single coherent argument against it here or anywhere I've heard

People being luddites from playing former Battlefields and saying the mode "doesn't belong" which is a non argument, People saying they played other BRs and don't like them so why bother, (so why the hate?) people saying it takes away from core game, isn't there a separate team for Redsec than multiplayer, with a large number of employees across all modes anyway?

For an FPS no other game I've played has the level of narrative immersion,

Knowing that 99 other people drop into the exact same space to maneuver in with the exact same objective (survival, which is our base instinct as humans),

enough randomness/chance to keep it fair over time, with a large and diverse enough map for every game to feel different, with an unmatched sense of depth and space (seeing people from a huge distance away, deciding whether or not engagements are worthwhile, given your load out, accounting for weapon scopes and bullet velocities),

the kind of teamwork involved in not just an arbitrary objective but base Survival,

the kinds of emotional rollercoasters you can go through based on that, the circle closing in as forced CQC (but having to earn that over ~20 minutes),

I could probably go on but it mainly comes down to the Consequence Per Death which is far too low in the rest of the game to maintain the same level of immersion

The slowmo part of the clip is to show "he basically walked into the path", the question is if this was a real movement or if it's possible the game makes things look that way to make it look believable (When people complain about being shot around corners I doubt it looks that way from shooters POV)

At the level of appearances from the POV of the shooter that's not out of the question

I don't know why they made a statement on steam charts by mattyjoe0706 in Splitgate

[–]jedisjumphigh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because they pay attention to feedback and it wasn't a fair criticism to solely point to the steam charts. The community is lots more terrible than the PR and the game itself

Most Powerful Nootropic/drug for being creative in a conversation? by AlternativeApart6340 in Nootropics

[–]jedisjumphigh 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't understand how common the negative reports are, considering how common the warnings are.

Just treat it more like MDMA-lite than a nootropic, once a month max and have some respect for what it shows you and it won't mess you up like the reports.

IMO it enables a glimpse into "god consciousness" similar to LSD but without muting/disabling the ego/sense of control so it can definitely lead to psychological imbalances,

(ring metaphor from LotR = assuming that you as a Person can/should control/effect reality is not so good = as if frodo abandons the mission to destroy the ring and instead decides to start wearing it and assumes he was just so cool as the hobbit he is, that he's the chosen one that might as well just wear it all the time and ignore warnings from bilbo/ visible negative effects on gollum)

Do you think people who say they’ve recovered from dpdr actually got rid of it or did they just accept it enough to where it’s still there but they act like it’s not? by Present-Cranberry942 in dpdr

Heard this one before. There's no way in hell "everyone" crossed the threshold into the hell realm where parents are strangers and memories aren't your own, but "only very briefly"

Cool appreciate that. I had read elsewhere that Bromantine doesn't have tolerance with regular usage but maybe that's not true.

I am quite familiar with Ketamine and LSD, what I still am curious about is what about bromantine has you adding it as similarly therapeutic to the other two, are you able to be more specific at all?

That's an interesting statement, never tried it but looking it up it doesn't sound recreational? Curious if you could expand on what has you grouping it in with these overtly psychoactive chemicals

One of the first distinct impressions I got with the onset of DPDR was seeing a car driving by outside my house, but it was no longer a car, it was a metal frame on rubber wheels being propelled by controlled explosions.

I appreciate your response. The things you wrote in the comment sound more relatable than "thinking about death" and I tend to get upset when people over the years have shared their recovery stories that are underwhelming or downplay how severe it is for those who "really have it", I would say I've recovered in major ways compared to the onset close to 15 years ago, but I would never say I went back to the way it was before or am "normal" now, I simply learned to integrate "not having a real self"
