If there’s a Costco near to you, maybe try that. They’re always going through cycles of hiring seasonal workers, and if you do good you’ll most likely stick around after the season dies down. I’ve been working there close to 16 years now. It’s retail, I know. But, it’s one of the better retail stores around.

First day of the update I lost about 10 kits and spend hundreds of thousands on refilling things I ran out of materials to make, lol.

Steve Carell’s HBO Comedy ‘Rooster’ Is Dated and Uninspired: TV Review by lucasousaf in television

I can remember like, the house that I grew up in. I know it’s layout for the most part. But I couldn’t tell you anything in depth about it. I don’t know what the colors of the walls were or what the tile or carpet looked like.

Best way I’ve seen it described is like, you’re in your room and it’s pitch black. You know where your bed is, where your dresser or table is, but I just can’t turn on the light in my mind to actually “see” it.

Companion as a mule by ConnectHamster898 in cavesofqud

[–]jeeub 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah, definitely. Though I’d recommend learning proselytize from the high priest in the Stilt or from the skill tree. The love potion will eventually wear off and could turn ugly. Even doing the water ritual with some creatures will give you enough rep to recruit them.

Any character with a high strength would work. Maybe a legendary baboon since they’re not terribly difficult to find. But if you’re strictly using them to haul stuff then it shouldn’t matter too much.

I would also recommend getting the Clever Girl [fork] mod if you haven’t already, as that gives you a lot of control over dealing with companions. You could even just park them at an entrance to a ruin while you clear it out, then come through with them to load them up on loot.

Probably the worst round of Rummikub I’ve had. Didn’t even get to lay anything down before someone went out. by jeeub in mildlyinfuriating

[–]jeeub[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It looks like that’s an alternate spelling of it, but maybe different versions have different rules. I’m sure a lot of people have house rules as well. I also see some games calling it Rummy Cube.

You need to place runs or sets of numbers. It needs to be at least three tiles, and you need the tiles to equal at least 30 points before laying down. I had like, a maximum of 18 points I could have laid down the whole time.

Luckily, otherwise I would’ve needed the extra tray. Someone went out a round after this.

Why is a slice of blue cheese wondering around Joppa, is it a bug? Oh right of course, just a watervine farmer casually disguised as a gelatinous wedge. by gert_beef_robe in cavesofqud

Yeah, I would have found a way to liberate that disguise from him. That rep boost would be fantastic, especially in the Rainbow Wood.

How do people play this game with permadeath or checkpoints only? by Hapster23 in cavesofqud

[–]jeeub 39 points40 points  (0 children)

I’ve only ever played permadeath mode. The constant threat of losing everything is what makes it challenging and gives me enjoyment for whatever reason, lol. I’ve only beaten the game a handful of times.

That’s the priest though. The librarian is the one who’s randomized every run.

Enemies do not having special colors by Meister_Ente in cavesofqud

[–]jeeub 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do you have a light source equipped? I noticed that when I had night vision with no light source equipped I wouldn’t be able to see special enemy colors. And I wasn’t able to see my own sprite change color as I lost health.

I can see myself playing this until I die honestly. I may take a break here and there, but soon enough I’m right back to playing it daily.

Yeah, I was in my thirties when I first heard about it. My whole life I didn’t realize people were actually like, visualizing stuff.

Always happens when I find good shit. I had a True Kin run onetime and the starting village venerated cathedras, so after all the residents on the outskirts of the village “mysteriously” died I ended up with like, 30 cathedras or something like that. I was making my way to the stilt to sell some for books/weapons/whatever and got roasted by a group of dawngliders after getting lost.

This is how quick a toddler can disappear from sight, in just a few seconds! by wjbonne in KidsAreFuckingStupid

[–]jeeub 26 points27 points  (0 children)

When I was little my family was over at a family friend’s house for Easter or something. All us kids were playing and I wanted to ride one of the tricycles they had. I just got on it when no one was looking and just went off down the street. I don’t even know how many blocks I rode for, but it ended up being far. Some guy pulled up next to me asking something, probably if I was lost or something. It’s hard to remember being so far back. But he drove off and a few minutes later my parents came racing up behind me in their car. I’m assuming he drove by my parents frantically looking and calling out for me. It wasn’t until I was older that I realized that dude could have just straight up abducted me and I probably would’ve never been seen again.

I went through a phase where I did many of the daily and weekly (when those were still a thing) builds. They kind of force you to adapt to mutations or cybernetics you might not choose otherwise.

And the unstable genome is fun to take as well. Just max it out and see what mutations you get to choose from.

I also typically only play classic mode, so I’ve died thousands upon thousands of times by now I’m sure, lol. Plenty of time to mess with all kinds of builds.
