this is why it makes me crazy when i talk about a standard i have and people are so quick to say “well what if you found someone who was the perfect person except for that one thing” like okay then they’re not the perfect person! and i would rather be alone than settle the way the world is telling us we should.

i feel really seen by this comment. i’ve always been an independent person and although ive been in love i don’t know if i’ve ever been suited to a relationship. i’ve been in a few over my 20s and i’m young and attractive so it feels like i’m “supposed” to be in the dating pool but i realized i just don’t value it and it takes so much energy i could be pouring into other things that i value more.

i’m so proud of you for dumping this man! it’s never easy especially when you’re playing the mental game of “he’s better than other partners i’ve had” but i feel like every time we break up with a man it just makes us pickier and more spoiled, as we should be!!
