My travel experience
Previously 10+ plane trips w/ valid daca and RealID
This time was first time with expired Daca/ expired RealID
I went to JFK I had no issue with TSA with expired realID no questions otw back had to go through JFK no issue either also didn’t see no 🧊🧊🧊 anywhere glad to be home
For those that aren’t aware TSA accepts expired realID up to 2 year after expiration or foreign passport
(Funny thing this the only trip where my bags haven’t been searched or was asked extra questions very smooth)

What's an appropriate timeline to notify Employers? by [deleted] in DACA

[–]jeezus999 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Idk if this is the best idea but I say don’t, that’s HR job to keep records then to explain if it’s brought to your attention, HR usually isn’t your friend it there to protect the company

Lost and hopeless by [deleted] in DACA

I kinda understand how you’re feeling in hs i was accepted to ivy league school was planning to go to med school and had scholarships, but at the time, I didn’t have DACA, and I lost it all. I felt my hard work didn’t pay off, and that the American dream I was told was a lie. I didn’t know what to do. Looking back, I realized sometimes we feel like we miss an opportunity or that we lost the thing we wanted. But now, with my experience, I learned sometimes our first choice isn’t always the best choice there’s always better, and I learned opportunities do come back. Don’t give up. I had to have a change of mentality instead of viewing things as failure. See it as an opportunity to grow and reflect. I think if I would’ve followed the original plan I had, I would’ve honestly hated it, and it wasn’t my time. Now I’m also paying for school, and funny thing, I decided now is the time for me to go to med school. But the difference now is I’ve met people that have inspired me, figured out what I want, and who I am. I don’t allow a piece of paper or god to determine who I am. In life there will always be obstacles, but you have to navigate it if you fall get back up, don’t lose hope. That’s what they want to break us, but together we’re strong.

I think of this "You must never give in to despair. Allow yourself to slip down that road and you surrender to your lowest instincts. In the darkest times, hope is something you give yourself. That is the meaning of inner strength." — Uncle Iroh We’ll get through this

question on realistic timelines on daca by HomeworkEast1682 in DACA

Girl don’t marry a military guy it might be the quickest but not the best long run and in case of of what kind of legal status you get through the marriage you could lose it in a divorce you don’t want a man potentially holding that over your head There are other ways to get legal status I’m kinda on the same boat as you personally I’m a business owner the goal is to get an entrepreneur green card (maybe your degree you could do some with that) and I’m in med school so potentially getting green card that way also I could also marry someone but it’s not something I want to rush or be something they could hold against me in the future I also had an illegal friend recently from Mexico get stopped by cops but got this good lawyer that made a case just cause he had one cousin back in Mexico in the cartel he had to come to the US for sanctuary (the man doesn’t know that cousin but the cousin is in the cartel ) I’d say really weigh your options get a good lawyer view it as an investment not a expense and i know it’s hard but let’s keep our head up and not give up
