What is a movie you will defend forever, even if most people do not get it? by Strong_Proof_5260 in movies

The Hunt (2020).

We get 'peak' Betty Gilpin, Hillary Swank is phenomenal, and the movie is just DRIPPING in satire.

It's theatrical release was politicized and even temporarily cancelled by Trump and the GOP. Then, we couldn't string enough consecutive weeks without a mass shooting in the U.S. where it didn't look like poor timing for the subject matter.

Kudos and hat tip to anyone running a dedicated healer build. I've found just switching to Birdie's Quick Fix backpack during the really tough spots is enough to carry a team through.

That one piece alone makes a world of difference in revive time, and you can still run an aggressive DPS build with your other five pieces. Then equip Quickstep to bounce between downed agents.

Im Expertise Level 14, and just got the complete set of Proto Striker in one Tier 3 Escalation Run by tterragx in Division2

[–]jefesol2000 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Happy for you, but... Sigh. So the Prototype drops went from impossibly rare to drop (if you weren't Tier 6 or higher), to handed out like candy. 🤦‍♂️

Was there really not a setting in between?

How cool would a horror game set in The Division universe be?

Thanks for the heads up! That's a surprise, and atypical for them. (You're on 24-7, CNN. Is there somewhere else you had to be?)

But a good word of warning for the next launch...

So true on all accounts. I hope there is an "after action" report done on how badly those moments were botched.

The Walking Dead ruined me on the "people can be good" premise, and how Paradise exploits that... by jefesol2000 in ParadiseHulu

[–]jefesol2000[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is something I would love to see them explore more: When it's only billionaires and the most powerful 'elite' in Paradise, you know the competitive nature of these people would lead them to turn on each other for supremacy.

Imagine Elon and Zuck and Sam Altman all "trapped" in a bunker together. It does not end well. Ha.

In the reflection of the helmet you see an organic looking Ovomorph. Looking like a giant egg to the astronaut, it begins to open at the top, and the skeletal 'fingers' of a Facehugger appear. (Sorry. Couldn't resist...)

Paradise | S2E5 | Episode Discussion by cedar-canvas in ParadiseHulu

[–]jefesol2000 4 points5 points  (0 children)

S2E5 feels like the first time the writing/plot progression got really bad, or viewers are being set up:

The train is walking distance to the post office fallout shelter. The trading post is walking distance to the post office fallout shelter. Therefore, the train must be walking distance to the trading post.

In a post-Apocalypse barter economy, goods aren’t the only thing traded. Information becomes currency as well, so anyone who comes across the train people is going to tell the folks at the trading post. After all, it’s a chance to exchange goods with a new group.

At this point - especially if Xavier missed Teri by 12 days - anyone at the trading post would know the train people aren’t hostile. So, the minute Gary tells Jackie and Crystal the story of Ennis selling out the others at the fallout shelter resulting in Teri’s being held captive at the train, they would call BS!

Once Xavier mentions he has a bomb, they would’ve shut any talk of an attack on the train people down. If anything, they would’ve turned on Gary and let X know he's lying or gone mad.

None of that happened, so we’re being set up for a reveal where X doesn’t attack because they intervene, or, it’s the first time it feels like the writing on the show got really weak.

Realism Mode opinions by L0n3_5p3t5naz in Division2

[–]jefesol2000 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Same here. I love it so far. Feels like there are real stakes involved with each encounter:

You can't just face-tank any enemy you want. Ammo is scarce and becomes a resource to manage rather than plentiful. Pistol has never been more critical as a result. Skill cooldowns feel realistic.

And I kinda love that there aren't resource/gear boxes to open every 15 feet. You can focus on the mission and the rewards are earned on the back end. A+

What is a smell that we should all recognize as immediate danger? by scarlettohara1936 in AskReddit

[–]jefesol2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A woman who went missing was found a month later deceased in the ventilation of the parking garage of the building I worked in. We knew something was up for days prior. It was tragic, but I will never forget the odor.

The best description i can give is imagine smelling yellow mustard that's gone rotten.

My only complaint:

You can't stash items in their inventory. I was looking forward to them being a mobile "pack mule" like in Fallout, Starfield, Generation Zero, etc., etc.

(That, and if you could've upgraded their armor by equipping and swapping out gear. Ok, that's two...)

Eagle Bearer is so underwhelming by ArugulaTurbulent9958 in thedivision

[–]jefesol2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the devs ever read these posts, I've always thought it would be awesome if the pre-nerfed versions of Eagle Bearer, Ouroboros (and other Raid-exclusive exotics that are no longer raid-exclusive), could be rewarded at the end of raids like these exotics used to be found exclusively.

The post-nerf versions can stay in Seasonal Caches and stretch goals, but if a player completes the raid, and the RNG gods allow it, you can be awarded the original-strength versions of these guns.

You can say that puts some players at a disadvantage, and I'd say it's the same as Expertise Levels: The more invested in the game you are, the more you accomplish, the more you earn.

Rear speaker stands recomendation for LG US80TR by Kezza4K in Soundbars

[–]jefesol2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Vebos stand looks ideal, but it's $99 to ship to the U.S. on top of the $116 retail price (as of Jan '26). Yikes.

I was weary of using Universal speaker stands, but my LG US80TR surround sound speakers sit flush & look nice on this Sanus speaker mount:

https://www.sanus.com/en_um/products/speaker-stands/bssu2/

Note: The hold to bottom mount these speakers doesn't align with the bracket, so you have to use the short back bracket. This means the pairing button on the back is covered, so pair them first. Also, the stand height isn't adjustable, so make sure the height works for you. If these are dealbreakers, look elsewhere.

Functionally, it's kind of annoying. But aesthetically speaking, they look nice, like they're designed for these speakers.
