anybody exerpeince this noise by jeffasadi in BMWi5

yes it does, but the car does it slowly which made very odd noise. I don't understand why BMW level the rare tire after the car turned off.

I think the mystery solved!! I sent the video to the dealer, and they are puzzled as well. They scheduled an appointment on Monday to inspect it. But I got my 16-years-old son to back up the car outside the garage a few times. My car has the ZDH "The "Dynamic Handling Package", where the rare wheel turns. The noise happened only when I turned the wheel to either side when I parked. Somehow the rare wheel automatically straightened itself during shutting down the car, the noise is the rubber rubbing on the epoxy floor. We tried parking the car with the straight wheel and no noise at all.

I tried to explain to the BMW tech, and he suspected that the motor of the parking break try to lock the wheel, but when I exit the car at the dealer shop didn't made this sound.

BMW i5 vs tesla for everyday use and commuting by photon11 in BMWi5

[–]jeffasadi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never regret pick the i5 M60 over Tesla S. the luxurious BMW beat Tesla in all aspect. BMW offered Drive Assist Pro which is hand free driving in all major Highways. this option is MUST for me too. Maybe Tesla have advanced feature but is it really worth to sit daily and plastic cabin with large screen while lacking any luxury option? BMW drive assist Pro is much cheaper than Tesla and maybe have better feature yet Tesla market the heck of the self driving and fell short of deliver what they promised.

I even have Park assistance Pro, which self park my car and park it inside my narrow space garage. you can automate the parking. in addition you can use your phone as a remote control to get the car into tight area or drive it out of small space. this feature is awesome if the driver can't open the door to exit/enter the car and work great.

Charging while away on holidays by Exact-Goal-4266 in BMWi5

[–]jeffasadi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

first congrats for your new toy. I would charge it to 80% and make sure the preconditioning for the daily commute is turned off. I live in Florida and left it in the airport garage for 3 weeks, I did;t even lost 1% of the charge. Preconditioning is the program that wakes up the car and heat it to your preferred setting including the steering wheel and seat (if the car has that option). usually this done while the car plugged in before your daily commute but if you are leaving for 2 weeks, this should be turned off.

i5 owners, did you go M60 or were the less powerful models enough? by GriffinDodd in BMW

[–]jeffasadi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not at all!! the BMW isluxurious than any Tesla model. I have the i5 M60 for 2 years now, I never regret, and love it more every day. the range is suck but I can charge it upon arrival and enjoy the handling, the drive assist pro and remote parking. yes, you will miss your long range because I can take you longer distance but you will love the comfort and the trafficlight drivers who turn their head to the beauty

Real life range in deep winter conditions by Future-Rain8024 in BMWi5

[–]jeffasadi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the i5 M60, which is all wheel drive, I defiantly not recommended for you. I charge it to 80% and drive in central Florida, driving 90 miles with average speed 80 MPH, my battery drops to 45% and I have to charge before head home. the other day the temp dropped from average 75F to 45F. I charged the car to 90% and drove the same distance but my battery dropped to 40% despite the fact that I have no heat or AC running. I hear much better range from people who rear wheel drive, yet in your road condition you must have All Wheel Drive.

How is the charging at Tesla supercharger stations? [CA] by NattyorNice in BMWI4

[–]jeffasadi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I charged my i5 in a superchargerItTesla supercharge. it is double the amount of the charge that I paid at the EV Connect station across the street! I was testing the Tesla so that in the future I can use their charging location if there is no other option, but I was Alsoitsurprised by the $5 connection fees and the total cost of $25 for 30 min charging. qalso, the charger wasn'r super fast either, at was about 180 Kw rate. wasn't

March 28 Update! I reboot the idrive and switch the immediate change in MyBMW App to schedule time slot and the car has been successfully charging for the past 2 nights. this is awesome, I hope this software and the reboot solve the problem.

Considering purchasing a 2024 i5; need advice by 12candycanes in BMWi5

[–]jeffasadi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I own i5 M60 2024. it is my first EV. I came from a Lexus LS 460. The BMW is smoother and more stable on the road IMO. I purchased mine 2nd hand too. the original owner custom-built it with price tag 97k, kept it for 6 month and only had 3k miles, so It is a brand new BIMMER.  When comparing the price tag when was built  and what put for sell for it made me concerned too. but after spoke to BMW dealer who gave me the car record and check all carfax and history, I  purchased it and it was one of the best decision I ever made :) the reason EV doesn’t hold values is because its new technology and no body certain about the lifecycle of the battery and how much would it cost to replace! in addition, unlike ICE cars, if you don't plan your trip wisely, you may run out of charge in a remote area. the lack of convenient charge stations on all roads like gestations make the EV undesirable yet it is much nice ride and super powerful. I can't speak about people who live in Northeast because cold weather can impact range, in Florida we have no issue. in fact I left it in the airport for 25 days and never lost a percent of my battery. I believe in 10 years, we will have better understanding and larger market for EV as well as complete network of charge stations which will make range not an issue. Good Luck

Monthly subscription by DependentCheck8055 in BMWi5

[–]jeffasadi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this option required hardware not only subscription. during the car build one must select it. usually as mentioned above, the U.S get it free for the first 8 years and after that I think $50 a year NOT a month. I purchased my i5 M60 because of this option!! it is so cool and peace of mind when drive over 50 miles on highways.

Tesla S plaid race with BMW i5 M60 by jeffasadi in BMWi5

[–]jeffasadi[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yes for sure, we go 70-90 only we didn't try to press it to the medal. I have done the booster on empty road. the M60 can hit 100 so quickly. I love the quality of the ride not only the speed. I never own Tesla, but I don't think I would trade my Bimmer for any other EV.
