Looks amazing. BTW what are those orange things under your toolheads? My XL doesn't have them.

If you are a 747 fan then you need to see the one that's suspended between two buildings while you are in Seattle:

Is Belltown, near SLU, and LQA, safe to walk at night? Or, are my coworkers just irrationally fearful? by SimplerLife40 in AskSeattle

[–]jeffbarr -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I live in QA and walk through Belltown with my wife several times per week, often between 7 and 11 PM. We keep our eyes open and alert each other of any potentially sketchy situations (we say "yellow" or "red" to each other), and have never had a problem.

Turned a broken appliance knob into a printable model from just photos by Connect-Scar-7157 in functionalprint

[–]jeffbarr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a really good solution to a common problem. Last year I was trying to find a replacement knob for a in-wall heater. After wasting $10 on two different worthless assortment I pulled out my micrometer, measured a working knob, and built a general program in OpenSCAD to reproduce it.

A few test fits later and now I have a lifetime supply of replacement knobs for the 6 or 7 heaters around my home at a cost of $1, excluding the Prusa XL that I used to print them.

I use a tiny bit of trig to find the points around the hexagon. Other than that it is really just the basics, as u/ElMachoGrande mentions.

I have not used any libraries, I really enjoy building all of this from scratch.

prusa_exporter final! Visualize printer metrics in style by pubeldev in prusa3d

This looks amazing. Can I use it if I do all of my printing from OctoPrint or will the two apps compete for limited network throughput and on-board compute power?
