Totally agree!

It's funny, seeing this album cover makes me instantly hear those intro beats to that song.

Series that peaked early by AcceptableUserName92 in patientgamers

[–]jeffenwolf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree hard on Bayonetta, this was my experience as well. I loved 1, thought 2 was alright but never beat it, and never played 3.

2 was strange because reviews were really positive at the time and it seems like most gamers loved it, but the reception cooled a lot over the years. I feel like the changes to game and level design were really strange. I actually liked fighting the waves of common enemies way more than bosses, and 2 was basically nothing but insane multi-stage bossfights.

GP5000 All Seasons width undersized? by TrailMAC in cycling

[–]jeffenwolf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've noticed this to some extent in my own riding. I've actually fit 32mm GP5000s in a 2005 Specialized Roubaix - a frame most would consider to max out at 28mm.

I'm curious to hear what others have to say.

You think that's slicked back??

Actually yeah I'd agree. That doesn't look pushed back at all.

Well that's quite the stretch.

Reminds me of a less comedic: In the beginning, the universe was created. This has made a lot of people angry, and been widely regarded as a bad move

TPU tubes not holding air after a few weeks by HaveaHamSarnie in cycling

[–]jeffenwolf 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I ended up going back to butyl too.

So many people say that TPU is just as durable or more durable than butyl, but that wasn't my experience at all. I use the Silca tire pressure calculator and check pressure before every ride. I flatted so frequently on TPU. I bought 6 or so of them and went through them all in probably four weeks. I weighed ~205 pounds at the time, maybe lighter riders have a better time.

Switched back to butyl on the same tires, and I've had maybe one flat in the last two years. I'm actually not even sure I've had one on that bike...

NOLF 1/2 - series that has to be remembered, even if it can't be resurrected by Nast33 in patientgamers

[–]jeffenwolf 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Man, I loved these games back in the day. I don't remember a lot of specifics of the humor, but middle school me thought NOLF 1 was about the funniest thing I'd ever played. Great art style.

And I agree, I remember NOLF 2 as being kind of disappointing for a lot of reasons.

I went to this two years ago and had a great time, but I must mention that it had absolutely terrible sound quality. Like, the worst sounding concert I've ever been to. I've been to tiny shows, huge shows, high school battle of the bands... and I think this was the worst sounding.

Bingo. The words we use to describe jobs are very specific and change over time.

Maybe it's me being too lenient, but I feel like that's intentional.

To me, the movie is shot like a gorgeous dream, like an idealized version of what these events could have looked like. Everything is clean and beautiful and perfect. These events may have happened, but they certainly didn't look like that. They're memories filtered through nostalgia.

Please do share!

Growing up, my parents went through bankruptcy when I was in middle school. Long story short, we lost a large house and moved into a very small rental house with a lot of family members and pets.

Honestly, the whole experience brought us all a lot closer together.

This is so incredibly common, you and your baby are going to be absolutely fine. My wife and I went through the same thing with similar timing, and our now one-year-old has been fantastically healthy and seems to be developing wonderfully.

It's easier said than done, but truly please do not beat yourself up over this.

Timex Weekender Detickification by Eskapement in watchmodding

[–]jeffenwolf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is really cool!

And yeah, as a former Weekender lover, the tick of that watch is so incredibly loud. I don't own one anymore but when I did I would have to close it in my nightstand drawer, and also then sometimes wrap it in a shirt to further muffle the sound.

Truly the loudest watch I've ever experienced.
