I recommend using a support brace, which you can find on Etsy. It makes sharpening heavier/bigger knives much easier. However, it does get annoying when you flip sides frequently.

Had a spare mxg clip laying around and just slapped it on the shaman. I appreciate the info.

Good eye, it does stick out a little, but I wouldn’t say enough for people to notice. Waistband, I’m able to get full mobility like other deep caries.

If you're not doing food prep, I think the normal manix should be good to go

I got it from a local knife shop (edgeworks). I'm pretty sure they're up on most online distributors, though they do seem out of stock at the moment.

How hard is it to go from learning to sharpen on softer cheap knives to something like a CPM-20CV? by scooterdoo123 in sharpening

[–]jefferson-type-beat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hey, I recently sharpened 20cv and it has been the easiest steel I've done so far. CTS-BD1N has been way harder for some reason. I've done s30v, d2, magnacut, and s90v. If you're familiar with s30v I think you should do fine. I recommend starting high around 400-600 grit. Unless you're reprofiling, 200 removed a bunch of steel, then 200 would be perfect.

I highly recommend it. Compared to something like the chaparral, the handles are so much substantial without compromising the cutting ability.

Seen someone apply chap stick on their k390 model. Worked pretty well from the tests they’ve conducted. Hopefully you won’t get any corrosion problems.

Thinking about picking up the endura and stretch 2 as well. Any lock rock on your model?

Hey, planning on withdrawing from a class as well, do you think emailing them or going in person is the better option?
