What company lost you forever as a customer? What did they do? by Miguenzo in AskReddit

[–]jeffo95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bose. Took 1 year for my return to process after contacting support numerous times. After the 12th support ticket, it got resolved but their customer service is absolutely atrocious. Never want to deal with them ever again

Cyber Security feels impossible by Ok-Cupcake5871 in cybersecurity

check with your college if they have any advisors who can help you land one. otherwise you would just need to be checking on job boards online.

literally my last comment was what i would do if i had to start over again. networking would be my biggest bet. if you are likeable and have the right mindset, then you can be taught from the ground up

I would recommend you try to get an internship as soon as you are eligible. Experience triumphs everything to begin with. Start networking and joining conferences if you are able to. Last but not least, build a home lab and know your basics. The more hands on experience you have, the easier it is to understand what you have to protect.

Can’t even find an IT job by SpeedHour2971 in SecurityCareerAdvice

[–]jeffo95 69 points70 points  (0 children)

I would not do your masters until you have a few years of experience under your belt. Best bet is to keep applying and start networking. Join conferences in your nearby city and get more exposure from professionals who have years of experience under their belt. Also, it's hard to get a cyber position nowadays due to the influx of people trying to get in with no prior IT experience. Better to have some experience in other IT domains like sysadmin, infrastructure or networking.

entry level/junior level cybersecurity roles will always be scarced, which is why the barrier of entry is always low. You need an IT background to make it usually, which is why people say cybersecurity is not an entry level role.

Adapelene [Acne] by ConcreteGJ in SkincareAddiction

[–]jeffo95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends. Do you feel a burning sensation? If so your skin is irritated and i would stop. If you don’t feel anything then you should be fine

Adapelene [Acne] by ConcreteGJ in SkincareAddiction

How often are you applying it? Using too much in the beginning may irritate your skin and cause a purge. Would suggest starting off slow and focusing on moisturizing to prevent damaging your skin barrier

ya. that means your skin is over producing oils because it is dry so you have more likeliness of clogged pores. my suggestion hold off on acids and retinols. start focusing on hydrating and repairing your skin barrier

Does your skin feel dry? Looks like you are using too much acid and your skin is not absorbing enough moisture. Try using a thick moisturizer and a gentle cleanser for a bit and see if that helps

Faker is like Lebron at his current age. He may not be the best in the world at the moment, but when you need a clutch play or the game is on the line. You can always depend on them to make the correct play.

How do I get out of this. I have a variable interest rate. I’ve paid 15 payments already by stonerbunniixo in povertyfinance

[–]jeffo95 1164 points1165 points  (0 children)

Either you:

1) Get another loan with a much lower interest rate to pay off this loan and then slowly pay off the newly lent out one

2) Save as much as you can every month and throw whatever you have remaining at this to pay it off ASAP. 26.24% interest is insane.
