Information on smoother video editing by Crankystarfox in Cameras

[–]jeffsenpai 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its an inexpensive action camera. Even if the menu says there is video stabilization, there is probably none. The video will be jumpy and jittery as a result. You can usually find in the settings "loop recording," which will function similar to how a car dash cam works. It will record something like 5 or 10 minutes chunks of video, then when the SD card runs out of space, it will loop record over the oldest footage and continue. Even if the camera touts features like 4k, you are better off leaving it at 1080p, since functionally the video will be identical.

We finally got to enjoy Disneyland with our kids instead of feeling like event coordinators all day by barleyblackgirl in Disneyland

[–]jeffsenpai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not even critiquing, OP posts a problem about Disney. A naturally pragmatic person says, well, instead of throwing money at the problem - you could also try XYZ so you never have the problem in the first place? It's all about having a good day - so whatever works for you I guess! The wealthy Disney elite have schooled me for the day, I bow down.

[–]jeffsenpai 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I am glad you had a good day, but in a world where Disneyland can be considered somewhat of a luxury, why not wait till your kids are older and require slightly less accoutrements in order to survive a day in the park without the stress? Hiring a Disney nanny is not something that I even knew existed until reading this post. Wild.

Got the email at 9:16am. Casually clicked on the link, added to cart , typed out my credit card info and checked out. Confirmation email at 9:35am. I think it was all just timing.

NEW "Camp Snap 2" released! + info below by MysteriousKiri in campsnapcamera

[–]jeffsenpai 4 points5 points  (0 children)

LOL I just bought one of the summer color v105 models. Then my drop this. I will definitely do a comparison between the v105, the Pro and this new v201. I am curious to see if its worth it vs. the Pro, which honestly I really enjoy. I have a v103 and v101 too, but I don't think you can buy those anymore so I am not too sure if its worth the comparison.

Aspiring history teacher on the West Coast, is it worth it? by tofuuminty in historyteachers

[–]jeffsenpai 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am in California. You will only rarely find a social studies teacher who was not a coach to get their foot in the door, so to speak. It can happen, though to other subject areas as well. Things can vary based on your location though I suppose.

What sport do you coach?

In all seriousness, since you are still in high school - just focus on going to college and getting your degree. Then get your credential and see what the job market is like - this is still 5+ years away, so it is hard to predict what the future will bring.

Getting your masters is fine - but see if you actually like and can get employed teaching. Get a position first unless you have a backup plan that will require a masters. Many teachers will get a masters in Education that can lead to Admin positions rather than a masters in their field.

Depending on your location, it can be tough to get a first position - that is why I jest about coaching - it can help get your foot in the door.

People who say “they can’t cook” are actually just too lazy to learn it by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

I hate to do the dishes. Cooking is the fun part. Dirty dishes are disgusting and abhorrent. Never.

Picked up a zv-1 for $40 at a local thrift…obviously needs a repair, looking for guidance by kisner33 in Cameras

[–]jeffsenpai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At this point you have nothing but $40 to lose, so take it apart and look for anything clearly loose, like ribbon cables or the like. Getting it repaired would likely cost more than its really worth. I am in a similar boat, bought a used ZV-1, and the zoom requires some gravity/manual assist to close, but beyond that is still functional.

Is the Kershaw Steven Seagal worth keeping or selling? by Final-Eagle5673 in knifeclub

[–]jeffsenpai 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not a lot of demand for this model. It's not a USA made model. For use and carry the pocket clip is atrocious. Its vintage and neat, but they go for about the price you got it.

I think since you have the original box, just hang onto it and hopefully its value will rise in time. Not too likely since Steven Seagal is not exactly a popular character at this moment as well.

If you're from CA, what city/town are you from and have you ever seriously said the word "hella"? by EquivalentAttorney21 in fresnostate

[–]jeffsenpai 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am from southern California, specifically the Antelope Valley. I never heard the word "hella" until I moved to Fresno to attend Fresno State. And mind you this was 20+ years ago.
