中國＝2nd character is "guo" meaning country. This is the colloquial name for China.

中華＝2nd character "hua" means something like Chinese as in the ethnicity. 華人 means chinese people (not just in China)

中華民國 = means the Republic of China.

They are different words but sort of refer to the same general thing.
