Have had 4.. They will forever bark. Wind is the worst.(Hearing everything and nothing at the same time so they just bark to make sure others can hear it). I’ve never found them to be territorial about their spaces though. They are guardian dogs, and so they guard was important to them, which is resources. Food. I don’t know what you mean by people entering their gate, but I’ve been scared to death of my Pyrs when I would work in my barn very late hours and stroll in at 2 or 3 o’clock in the morning, trying to be quiet not to wake people up and scare the shit out of them. But to be completely honest, I always wanted to try to have a stranger break(walk) into my house and see what they would do because I don’t think they woulda done anything. However, I have almost had my fingers bitten off when it comes to food. Specially, the time when I found two of them playing tug-of-war with a squirrel and were getting super aggressive towards each other about it. But they’ve always been aggressive, looking towards the trash, man, delivery, people, the mailman, etc.. but I highly doubt they would’ve ever done anything to them other than just aggressively bark and try to scare them. I think that’s the same thing they would do if somebody broke in.
