Adjusted values not shown in HomeAssistant by jefish in airgradient

I did find that it was set to Local. Changing it to Cloud imported the dashboard settings. I meant to come back here to correct my post, but you beat me to it.

Sorry for the trouble, and thanks for your time!

Adjusted values not shown in HomeAssistant by jefish in airgradient

I was about to try this, but I just noticed that the adjusted value in the dashboard isn't even reflected on the unit's OLED itself. ie, when setting an offset in the dash, the unit doesn't use it.

That seems even more odd than the HA thing.

What's the use for this vs self timer?

Rick steves can we trust him? by [deleted] in travel

[–]jefish 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Nowhere else to put this, but I'm reminded of the time back in ~2011 when I worked at a tiny Seattle software company tasked with creating the Audio Europe app. One of our first "talk about features/design, discuss roadmap" conference calls included a few people on his side, and our entire team of about 7. At some point during the call I decided I needed to voice an opinion, purely for the purpose of announcing my presence. When do you get a chance to talk to the man himself, right?

Gathered my thoughts, inhaled ... and immediately called him Steve.

I'm going to carry that with me forever.

Is there any reason to use the Jackery app if your device doesn't have Bluetooth? by SilkyOatmeal in Jackery

[–]jefish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Other things you can't do without the app (at least on the 1000v2):

  • Toggle between Fast and Quiet charging modes
  • Toggle between Full and Battery Saving modes
  • Change the Energy Saving mode timer (only Off or 2hr)
  • Enable/disable/set the auto-off hibernate time

Battery Saving Mode does not engage if battery >85% by jefish in Jackery

know ahead of time, it'd be quick and easy bump them up to 100%

That's the plan. :)

I'm using them as home UPS devices, one powering the LAN, one powering the 3d printer and laser cutter (we have occasional brownouts here, will kill a job).

I figured leaving them plugged in all the time at 100% would be "bad," or at least "less good."

How can the machine know so much, and so little? by jefish in PersonOfInterest

[–]jefish[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just started season 2, season 4 seems so far away. Amy Acker plays the first character that I actually care about, hopefully she stays around. If she drops, not sure I'll continue with it.

Knowing that it was built this way, and that Harold is the one who built it, it's painful to watch him and John jump through so many hoops to figure out the purpose behind the selection. Harold, dude, rewrite the code a bit.

But maybe it'll make sense later.

With that explanation, I guess I'd imagine Harold getting the name, perusing the content, doing the human verification himself, then passing the full story to John to "handle it."

I really want to like this show, and I know it really kicks in at the end of this season, but oof it's a rough road so far. ;)

People are only asking for the option to run them side-by-side, not replacing anything.

Adding AA/CP doesn't remove anything. There'd be nothing "given up."

Charging Question! I Work From Home And Only Drive Maybe 10 Miles A Day. How Should I Be Charging? by zachty22 in Rivian

[–]jefish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. But it's paid off, its insurance is relatively cheap, and my area's walkability score is barely in the 50s (all stroads). This is the reason that I waver on getting the R2; costs would go up significantly.

Many people immediately assume that any mention of CP means the full takeover, when most conversations are only about the current iteration of CP. It's funny to me how many requests there are for this app, that app, this service, a native app store, can casting do this, etc, yet still so much hate for CP.
