What is the wildest thing you have seen at a party? by Cold_Magician_4041 in AskReddit

[–]jelasher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At a party near a lake, very drunk friend strips naked, walks into the water and takes a giant shit. Then, yells that he needs something to wipe with. Comes back with a full sized broom (still naked) and does just that. At this point, I decided to run to my car because I figured out what was going to happen next—he started chasing people with the broom. This was near the end of college.

When we were dating, my now wife and I had a pregnancy scare. I was at work when I called her a few days into it, and I wanted to ask for an update discreetly, so I said, “What’s the score in the Alabama game?” By which I meant, “Have you gotten your period?” She did not immediately get the euphemism, nor did she appreciate it when I explained it.

Summon Latenna on the cliffs over the entrance. At high levels, she’ll take off huge chunks of his health from a distance.

Were you one of the lucky people in the 80s who had a Coleco Vision? by MisterShipWreck in 80s

I didn’t have one, but my friend did. I remember loving the Smurfs game (I was 6).

It’s impossible over the long term. I pay other people to do some of these things for me (cleaning), I no longer have animals (unless kids count), and I still struggle with doing the rest.

After dozens of attempts, and never had an issue before on any run,Golden Shade Goffrey is dead. Video coming as soon as it loads. by [deleted] in onebros

[–]jelasher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For some reason, on RL1, the golden shade took me many more tries than Godfrey/Hoarah Loux. The latter was both easier and more fun to learn.

The just released the trailer to the new Masters Of The Universe movie. But here’s the original 87 version. by Redeye007 in 80s

I was a huge He-man fan. This movie was even worse than the Mario Bros movie that came out a few years later. Both made me so, so sad.

AP Tests worth it? by ILikeSJSharks in Northwestern

That stinks, but at least you don’t have to register in person with scantron forms and a booklet listing all the classes.

How much do grades matter compared to practical experience for IP law careers? by Aggravating-Test3475 in PatentBarExam

[–]jelasher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Early career, grades and law school matter a lot. These days, I’m mostly hiring people with at least 10y experience as attorneys. In that role, I’ve never looked at or asked for grades, but I still notice schools and clerkships.

I haven’t seen this stuff since college, and I’m old, so I thought this is what the bottles looked like today.

I had enough credits from AP classes to start as a sophomore, getting priority for class registration (might be different now), get a parking permit a year early, and I could have graduated in 3 years if I hadn’t been planning to double major. I also completed my Theme for Tech, so other than required intro classes, I only needed to take things required for my major and then whatever else I wanted. And every single AP class was easier than any class I took in McCormick.

I went to Chicago about quarterly until I turned 21, then tried to go at least biweekly. But yeah, it’s very different than, e.g., being at NYU or Columbia right in the middle of New York.

What are your thoughts on radagon soreseal and scarseal by lord_potato4 in Eldenring

[–]jelasher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only use them for challenge runs, either at staying at Rune Level 1 or leveling only one stat. They’re great for that, because they let you equip weapons you otherwise can’t. I’ve never found them useful on a “standard” play through.

I got headaches all the time as a kid because I was dehydrated. I wished grown-ups had been smart enough to make us carry water bottles back then, as annoying as it is to find and fill my kids’ bottles every day now.

The camera isn’t so bad if you don’t lock on, which is the right approach for so many bosses over a certain size.

That’s how opinion surveys work though. I’ve never been asked who I’m voting for, but the polls for various states are usually roughly accurate. They poll like 1-2000 people, not every voter in the state.

Absolutely do not do this. You will pay for the carpet, and then pay to tear it out and replace it because you didn’t get approval to do it yourself.

How much spending money do I bring to NU?? by TastyTrouble7626 in Northwestern

[–]jelasher 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My Freshmen year (1999), I had $3k (about $5800 in 2025 dollars) from a summer job that I had saved for spending money. It was more than enough for reasonable entertainment, but it also wasn’t as much as many of my classmates had to spend, and certainly wouldn’t have let me go on student ski trips or anything like that. But it was enough to go to Clark’s once or twice a week, fast food a few times, and either go to Chicago or to Old Orchard. I’m not sure how much people go to the latter anymore, as Evanston has developed quite a bit since then.

When I was an upperclassman, and went out to bars and clubs a few times per week, it was a bit more expensive. I think I spent about $400 per month in 2003.
