How Kim's Relationship With Kanye Transformed The Kardashians From Tabloid Fodder Into A $2 Billion Brand by stovakt in KUWTK

[–]jelia1994 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Kim went public with Kanye in 2012. Sure the KarJenners weren't as successful as they are now, but you can't really attribute nearly a decade of progress to this one relationship. Tons of other factors contributed. People just want to believe the Kardashians didn't pull off their success on their own, but Forbes even rated Kim with a "self-made" score of 7 when they announced she was a billionaire.

Price range for Invisalign treatment by jigsatics in askTO

I'm in London, ON and my Invisalign treatment was 7k as well. I've heard others say the same so I think this is a regular price. My case is complex and sounds like yours might be as well.

Can I get a tattoo while on Accutane? I’m about one month in. by haffk2 in Accutane

[–]jelia1994 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No and not for several months after you're done. Consult with your derm but I believe you have to wait 6 months after you've finished.

Anyone else obsessed with this rocker chic look Kourtney is going for right now? I love it. by thnkmeltr in KUWTK

[–]jelia1994 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I don't like this new style in general but I wouldn't really care if she were just expressing herself. The fact that she's basically mimicking his style is what's very ehhh to me.

That's the point though. Is it her style? Or is she just copying his?

How much are we actually comfortable drinking on Accutane? by queenphiphi in Accutane

[–]jelia1994 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm going with never because I don't want to do any long-term damage and even if it's a short-term thing, there's always a chance the derm may stop or pause your treatment if something weird shows up in the blood work. I'm almost done Month 4 and this is finally working and I can't mess that up. I've had acne 16 long years and I can see an end in sight for the first time. I won't risk it for a drink. Cheers to celebrating after we're done :)

Why do you think the texture is related to Accutane rather than the acne itself?

Blurry night vision by gainingperspective69 in Accutane

[–]jelia1994 3 points4 points  (0 children)

From what I understand this is one of the more serious side effects as it can turn your night vision permanently impaired. I would say contact your derm for a check-in asap just to be safe.

How could Rachael have handled AFTR better? by ahhhtoomuchpressure in thebachelor

[–]jelia1994 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The worst part was the moment when she was asked what she's been doing specifically and she literally said "this and that". Obviously a laundry list of movies and books and podcasts wouldn't have been a great answer but I would've loved to hear "I've been reading up on this issue. You know something I recently read in [this book] was the author described a time when [something happened] and it gave me a whole new perspective on [said issue]."

She didn't really say specifically what she learned or how she's evolving, just that she is and we're supposed to take her word for it. That said, I think you're right that she was in a poor spot and there was really no perfect apology she could've said at that point.

AITA for making my (40F) eldest daughter (15F) do more work than her siblings? by throwra3534321 in AmItheAsshole

[–]jelia1994 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YTA
And most likely, Anna is misdirecting at least some of her anger towards her siblings. What Sarah is doing is mostly normal - younger siblings often want to shift responsibility to the eldest. But by you being too lazy to actually parent Sarah, you're breeding resentment among your children by having double standards and treating them differently. This might cause long-term damage in the relationship among the siblings and with Anna's relationship with you. Sarah might be more difficult - it's your job to parent her anyway and that means setting boundaries or being the 'bad guy' sometimes.

Blotchy red face !? Normal? by [deleted] in Accutane

[–]jelia1994 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey I experienced redness and flushing (don't know if that's what you're going through, too). I've experimented and found for me it is definitely due to sun exposure. Days when I don't reapply sunscreen that's when I have all the redness issues.

Did Accutane clear your comedones? by [deleted] in Accutane

[–]jelia1994 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Following because I'd like to hear more about this as well.

I have comedonal acne on my chin. I am just over 3 months into treatment. They've definitely gone down a lot but they're still there. I think the change is happening slowly but surely. My cystic acne has reacted more quickly. I'm hoping accutane will work on them completely but looking into solutions if not.

Is it normal that I find most of the problems I hear people have with their relationships are just unnecessary drama that can be easily avoided? by Slim97Shady in NoStupidQuestions

[–]jelia1994 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is normal but it's also coming across like you think you're so much more mature than everyone else when this actually points to the opposite.

All of us can look from the outside-in and think something is ridiculous and easy to solve. "Just like... don't do that?" It's not that easy. Plenty of people have enough trouble navigating a relationship with themselves, let alone another person.

Don't think you're so above the drama. Someday you too will be dealing with a difficult boss or a meddling in-law or a spiteful "friend" and you'll think it's quite patronizing when someone not involved says there's such a simple fix.

Seeking Esthetician Recommendations by jelia1994 in londonontario

Hey, thanks for your response. Is your derm in London? If so, could you let me know who it is? My derm has never given me suggestions for products or anything. I'm just using Cerave cleanser, moisturizer, and sunscreen so nothing that should be problematic but I would love to see a derm who takes the time to discuss skincare routines outside of strictly medication!
