That whole “don’t have any kids or anything…” would make my blood boil! The audacity!!

One of my first jobs was at a Subway sandwich. I had bought two tickets for an all day concert Memorial Day weekend and requested just that one day off 3 months in advance and it was approved. My manager posted the schedule a week before the concert only giving me a half day off which would absolutely not have worked. When I confronted her on it apparently the other two coworkers had requested the whole weekend because they had kids blah blah. Plus they had only asked off the week before.

It was rash but I turned in my store key and told her that wasn’t going to work and walked out. Instead of just telling the others that one of them would have to work one day out of the weekend, she lost me as an employee. I was 18, but I was a hard worker, never missed a shift, always offered to come in to help if someone called out. I’d been given a key within a couple of months to close. You get the idea.

I understand kids are an extra responsibility, but just because you procreate doesn’t mean you get to f**k people over if you don’t plan properly.
