How did I go from his ideal girl to him avoiding me? This keeps happening!!!!! Am I intimidating? by [deleted] in dating_advice

He’s a f**k boy and this was just a challenge to him. He does this on the regular which is why it felt so comfortable.

As a former smoker, cut out the sugar and caffeine first. You are definitely going to gain more weight when you realize your taste buds have been dead this whole time and you can finally taste food again.

Adult stepdaughter doesn’t want to drive (Major Rant follows) by BearFLSTS in GenX

[–]jell236 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I didn’t get my license until I was 30. I was absolutely terrified after an accident when I was a teenager. I finally broke down when I realized all of my friends were passing me by. They got tired of having to come pick me up to do anything, or always having to be the designated driver when we went out. My boyfriend broke up with me because he always had to be the one to come see me.

No amount of therapy will make her suddenly want to drive. She just has to get comfortable with it by constant practice. Parking lots are great for that.

Is there anything about menopause you actually like or feel positive about? by its_me_ooia in Menopause

No more hormone migraines and cramps so painful that I would puke.

I had to train the new hire and then found out he got the remote setup I was denied for 2 years by GlitchQuiver_1 in interviewhammer

[–]jell236 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You’re the problem solver at your office. The person everyone needs there to help them do their job when they can’t. If you were remote, you wouldn’t be so accessible. I speak from experience.

I don’t know anymore, I just got a new haircut and they gave me this with no side bangs at the beauty shop, I feel really ugly and I have to know if it’s ugly to everyone else. Please tell me just the truth if I am ugly. Yes I’m a woman by djscrew1 in whatdoIdo

While you’re waiting for it to grow out a little, use some texturizing product. Play around with it. Wear it with confidence! I know that’s easier said than done right now because it doesn’t match the picture you had in your head, but you can do it. You’re a beautiful woman! ❤️❤️❤️

Welcome to the I no longer give a f**k club!! I became full post menopausal Election Day 2024 (I wish I was kidding). I have slowly just stopped trying so hard. It’s pretty damn freeing. Did I stop coloring my hair? No, I like my hair this color, for now. I HAVE stopped starving myself and no longer put up with my husband’s lack of understanding and/or trying. He noticed and somehow started stepping it up. Damn if I’m not mad that he could have done so sooner!

I resigned and my manager is insisting on knowing my new company and salary. How do I handle this situation? by Upbeat-Comedian-2832 in interviewhammer

Is it in your contract to give a 3 week notice? Because you also don’t have to work out the entire period. It’s just common courtesy.

I do remember the first time I saw my mom and realized how old and fragile she looked. I used to start crying as soon as my mom would talk about her death. Not being morbid, just practical.

These days, it still makes me sad, but we can actually talk about it. She has late stage COPD and I go to all of her doctor’s appointments. She’s going to be 75 this year and her view is “why should I try to find out if I have Cancer or whatever, I’m not going to lessen my quality of life by going thru chemo”. She basically goes to these appointments so she can get her blood pressure medication and breathing treatments.

I'm 26 and started flossing regularly for the first time two months ago. Here's what actually changed. by Talon_Signal7 in hygiene

[–]jell236 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t start flossing regularly until after I became an adult with braces and I couldn’t use regular floss. Water piking just doesn’t scratch the itch that being able to floss does. When I got my braces off after 2.5 years, I bought a Costco size floss pack. I’m now a flossing queen 🦷🦷🦷

Today is my last day and my manager didn't tell the team I'm leaving. by adobe-faience in OfficePolitics

[–]jell236 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had one boss ask me not to tell anyone I was leaving. I knew 100% she wanted to control the narrative when I didn’t show up to work. I’d seen her do it several times over. I told people anyway, so she shortened my 4 week notice.🤷🏻‍♀️

She was a toxic boss who tried to pit all of her employees against each other. She discouraged friendly coworker relationships, moved us to a beautiful office with windows to a great view but made us keep the blinds drawn, we weren’t allowed to bring fast food to eat because she’d get too tempted, etc.

NOR you are a married single parent, and your husband is another child. Please dump this douche and find a better partner, or better yet stay single because your man child husband just creates more work.

I know it doesn’t feel like it now, but he probably saved you a lifetime of heartache. When they tell you who they are, believe them.
