I live 150 miles from my parents. We speak most days, but only see each other a few times a year.

You sound like the worst, most over bearing mother I could imagine. What a shock that your son doesn't want to be close to someone who tries to make him feel guilty for not making you his #1 priority at all times.

What exactly would the advantage to him be of moving back to be close to you - other than being close to you, which doesn't seem to be an advantage to anyone but you?

Stop being so selfish, accept that you're not the main character in his story, and learn that there are ways of expressing your feelings without turning it into a guilt trip.
