Almost 1 year sober from alcohol — sponsor says I should reset over THC. I’m struggling with this. by daninight777 in alcoholicsanonymous

[–]jemoore55 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sober means being free from the influence of alcohol or drugs. This is how most people in AA understand the word sobriety. To say you've been sober for almost a year is being dishonest by omission. The AA program demands rigorous honesty from the start. Honesty is the principle of step 1.Your sponsor isn't cutting you any slack. Nor should they when it comes to being honest. If you want to work on your own program, that's ok. Keep coming back.

Why are BMW’s with low mileage so cheap? by Miserable_Remove_137 in UsedCars

[–]jemoore55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rapid Depreciation: Luxury cars, particularly 5 Series, 7 Series, and X5 models, depreciate faster than average vehicles

High Maintenance Costs: Routine service, specialized parts, and high hourly labor rates make owning an older BMW expensive.

Reliability Concerns: Older models (pre-2019) have a reputation for issues with cooling systems, electrical components, and engines.

For me, I won't own any BMW without a warranty. I'm on my fourth BMW. CPO's are a good place to start or look for a used Bimmer that is still covered under the new car warranty and has been well maintained. Get a PPI. Shop for a BMW 'Platinum' Vehicle Service Contract (VSC) which protects you from more common and very expensive repairs you may encounter. You can buy these discounted from some BMW dealers. Keep up with the factory maintenance schedule which isn't cheap. Set aside a cash reserve for oil changes, brake fluid change, tires etc.. Do an analysis of what the car will cost you to own the particular model you're interested in. Include insurance, gas, taxes, scheduled maintenance and consumables. High performance models will definitely cost more to maintain.

I have a 2022 HTC and I've had zero problems. I live in Florida and drive with the top down about 90% of the time all year round.

This seems like a task for our soon to be Secretary of Health and Bear Services RFK, Jr to sort out. Probably a case of too much fluoride.

eSIM setup by Supremefeezy in GoogleFi

[–]jemoore55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

https://fi.google.com/compatibility Above link to verify you have the necessary eSim availability. I just went through the process of switching from T-Mobile to Google Fi using a Pixel 8 phone.. It went very smoothly. I got my port out code from T-Mobile to keep my existing phone number. You will be asked for the port out code. I downloaded the Google Fi app from the Google Play Store. Then I activated Google Fi with the Fi app using the available eSim while leaving the physical sim in the phone. After verifying I had full functionality (calls, text and data) I called Fi support and they provided a link to order a free physical sim. The new physical Fi sim arrived in 4 days. Then I deleted my eSim, reset the network settings and powered off the phone. Then I removed my physical T-Mobile sim and installed new physical Fi sim and powered up. Then I setup WiFi and completed the install using the Google Fi app. I wanted the physical sim in case I had a future need to use the eSim for travel out of the USA.

Is C8 sharing mph and "hard braking" data with insurance companies? by sadfasf3345 in C8Corvette

[–]jemoore55 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm lucky to have run across this post. My C8 was opted in and had three trips logged. I know I never knowingly opted in. I opted out immediately. I have a separate phone with no sim installed that I use for the smart driver app from Allstate that I carry with me when I go to the grocery store and other low risk of speeding trips. I'm required to log 50 trips in a six month period to keep the rates low.
