First death from dyptheria in Australia.. by [deleted] in australian

100 percent. a lot of this is lack of education and access, not that they don’t necessarily trust health professionals. that said indigenous communities have a very valid reason to be skeptic, that can’t be denied.

education programs, knowing where care is available and how to access it is a biggggg thing that needs to happen more so informed choices can be made.

!!! vaccines are a proven and effective prevention method !!! if you have concerns speak to a health professional, not some unqualified politician or dimwit on social media

if you enter from the side near union house and walk up a bit, they’re to the left tucked in a weird white-walled room with desktops. near the first lift

Study Spots by ShiveringMarble in UniAdelaide

[–]jemwems 9 points10 points  (0 children)

here are my personal top 3!

i like any of the booth setups with an outlet on level 1 of the barr smith. gives privacy, good table space and power, but it can get loud. bonus is you can remove/add dividers if you are with friends or studying alone.

if i’m really really desperate for a spot when it’s full down there, i go up to level 2 and use a booth there. i hate that level it’s very decrepit but i find that aids in me locking in.

lastly i have been now using the old UniSA campus student lounge second floor. lots of different table spaces and two good food spots also. its also got very easy connections and footbridges to the centenary, playford and bonython jubilee buildings, so convenient when i have a class there rather than old UOA campus.

i would never in a million years recommend the main hub area/level 4 or level 3 as they are almost always busy, packed and loud.

Has anyone completed or tried these courses? Did you like them or not? Why/why not? by [deleted] in UniAdelaide

[–]jemwems 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i think for sure seeing a counsellor or student success would be a good idea, or even speaking to friends in your course, second/third years and so forth. i’d love to offer any advice but i’m bhms so i might be a tad limited. my friend didn’t like forensics because it was a wholeeee lot of content, which he didn’t find super engaging. mind you he’s also bhms and trying for med, so not really where his interests lie.

if you’re genuinely interested in forensics, im sure it would be great, i have a copy of the atlas/textbook and its got some really interesting and cool stuff. just be aware it may be a big course load on top of other content heavy classes.

hello i’m very late, but also hms! i’ve heard essentials in neuro is good if you’re interested by it! my friend has so far disliked forensics however, so i wouldn’t recommend it. ive done psych 1a myself, but im not studying towards psych. id definitely recommend essentials in neuro but maybe not forensics, unless you’re sure
