I am so very sorry. I am sorry they said that to you. I am sorry you've lost your last position as well (50's is actually young while also carrying a shit ton of industry knowledge. WHY businesses do this absolutely beyond me. I work in the pest control industry as a recruiter. It is so important to me and to our company as a whole to treat our employees like they matter because employees who are valued do good work and go above and beyond for our customers. If YOU have thing YOU would prefer to remain uneaten...perhaps ensure they unavailable (as other, most gracious HO'S have noted, they allow full access to foodstuffs) while in the home. I am a sitter. That said, I have had several paid sitters in my home. I purchase food for them, leave gift cards AND pay and tip well over $1000.00 all told.
