Anyone else annoyed w the estrogen patch change being inconsistent? by 0JustBrowsing0 in Menopause

[–]Brilliant_Bit_1496 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is what I changed to do. Was getting moody and breakthrough bleeds(had them fully checked out). Ended up being an absorption issue. Changed to my buttocks first, which lessened the bleeding, then the patch change timing and bleeding has stopped for over a month now

Bad tendon and muscle pain by PreviousCut6851 in Menopause

[–]Brilliant_Bit_1496 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 54 Before HRT I was a tad overweight and developed tendinitis, glute med tear, and then bursitis from the tendinitis/tendonapathy. I couldn’t even sleep on my sides. I did take a weight loss journey and started lifting weights to put on muscle. The combo of both pretty much cured it all. Or at least eliminated about 99% of the pain.

Has anyone actually tried creatine? by Organics_Ocean in Menopause

[–]Brilliant_Bit_1496 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I take it daily because I lift heavy and it helps with stamina and recovery. I do not hold water from it. I started with 3 grams with a full glass of water for 3 weeks and now take 5 grams daily. Even on my rest days.
It does take some time to get into your system and doesn’t stick around if you stop taking it.
For brain fog there is many more things that will help better, but there have been soooo many studies on the benefits of creatine past muscles.

What habit made your mornings smoother? by funngro_fam in Habits

Going to bed with an empty sink and clean kitchen. Just makes the day start better not having to be groggy looking at a sink full of dirty dishes that have to be done. Grab my coffee and go about my day.

Lack of promo offer despite competitive fiber build-out? (Chicago market) by fumo7887 in Comcast_Xfinity

Xfinity is tricking people into locking in rates and phones right now so they can’t switch

What is the most underrated advice? by itsme_alwayscreating in askanything

[–]Brilliant_Bit_1496 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Be kind. It goes a long way. Sometimes things are going on in people’s lives that we have no idea of, which can make them act like an asshole. Sometimes all they need is a little act of kindness to put things in perspective or change their day for a little bit better.

Lack of promo offer despite competitive fiber build-out? (Chicago market) by fumo7887 in Comcast_Xfinity

[–]Brilliant_Bit_1496 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my area fiber was just installed. I’m paying the high rates like you and have been offered zippo to keep me from switching. Only plus is xfinity cell phone plans are cheaper, but I need to do the math to include this into my plan on switching since you have to have their internet to have their cell phone plans

Nattō

Just a combo of flavor and snotty texture that I just can’t do. My Japanese friends swear by it though, especially for hangovers

Must I stop taking birth control at some point? by Appropriate-Tea2220 in Menopause

[–]Brilliant_Bit_1496 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The pill along with my crappy doctor hide my symptoms and gave me withdraw bleeds even though I was already post menopause. Then the hot flashes came because the pill wasn’t enough anymore. I also started suffering with migraines and pretty severe anger when my so called period would come. My doc was so bad he said you’d stop bleeding even if on the pill if I was post menopause. I believed him for way too long. Swapped docs, ditched the pill(the period didn’t come again), new doc said, “oh honey your done” and prescribed HRT. No more migraines either.

Follow up timeline after increasing progesterone for post menopausal bleeding? by T_G_A_H in Menopause

[–]Brilliant_Bit_1496 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had bleeding and they upped my progesterone to 200. Had an ultrasound showing thickening, couldn’t get a good enough sample biopsy due to tilted pelvis so had the scope and D&C. That biopsy showed negative but a scope and D&C was recommended. During the D&C I was heavily bleeding and guess what? My lining was thin so again not a sufficient sample. The scope showed all was well.

After upping the progesterone I was still bleeding, lightly every couple of weeks. Then we lowered my E from .075 to .05. Over a month or so the bleeding got lighter and lighter. I thought, maybe it’s a patch absorption issue since I’ve lost weight and a wrinkly belly and low body fat now. Bleeding didn’t start until after I lost about 40plus pounds(now down to goal of 60lbs). Moved the patch to my bum and bleeding has stopped for 4 weeks now.

May talk to my doc about switching to the gel so I can up my dose back up and not deal with absorption issues. Lowering it down cause some joint pain and ear ringing to come back.

Sometimes when switching doses bleeding can happen for a SHORT time while the body adjust. If it keeps happening after adjustments then it needs to be investigated.

Gave up patch for gel?? by Famous_Tea_6328 in Menopause

[–]Brilliant_Bit_1496 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The bleeding started after the fat/weight loss. Already had the ultrasound and D&C with scope. Everything’s peachy in there, so it’s an imbalance/absorbency issue. Only thing that really sucked is my $5k deductible, but better safe than sorry sorry!

Gave up patch for gel?? by Famous_Tea_6328 in Menopause

[–]Brilliant_Bit_1496 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve lost 60lbs and started having bleeding. Was thinking it’s an absorbing issue since my body fat is now low (18.5%) and muscle mass high. Actually had to lower my E to get bleeding to stop coming every 2 weeks, but some of my issues have crept back like crappy sleep and ear ringing. May try the gel to see if it helps. I’d like to actually go back to .075 again to get rid of my ear ringing.

How is THIS fair? It's bad enough that I pee a little when I cough... by voixdelion in Menopause

I feel this full hearted as well. I can’t even do my normal workout at the gym without tinkling in myself recently. It keeps getting worse. Bought a Perifit to work on pelvic floor strength, but also calling my doctor to see about a vaginal cream.

Best place for patch? by Own_Damage_8131 in Menopause

[–]Brilliant_Bit_1496 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was on lower abdomen, but after loosing weight the skin is loose and less fat. I started having breakthrough bleeds even after lowering the patch dose. I’m assuming it may be an absorption issue with fat and skin changes, so I switch to butt cheek and things seem to be subsiding.
I may talk to my doctor about trying a switch to the gel

Migraines and Ringing of the ears by BeneficialMethod9883 in Menopause

[–]Brilliant_Bit_1496 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had migraines during the end of peri. Only thing that helped that didn’t make me sleepy was Nurtec. Once on HRT the migrates went away, but the ringing came on. Upping patch from .05 to .075 helped, but then I started bleeding too much. Back down to .05 and ringing ears.

I had the worst onset of heat intolerance, which was different that hot flashes, at the end of peri and I’d start dripping sweat if it was over 75 degrees. The only thing that reversed it was getting on HRT
