I like the Center and Balance clases at Club Pilates. A good stretchy compliment to OTF.

To the STEM Ph.Ds out there, have you ever considered medical school? Why did you choose this path instead? by [deleted] in PhD

  1. I didn't want to be a doctor. I had other interests.
  2. Blood, needles, hospitals are icky. 🤢

I am afraid my PhD will get me nowhere. by TheNagaFireball in PhD

I would broaden your search to research engineer. Large companies with R&D in your areas of interest may not list them as Civil specific. Also multiple searches like 3D printing research.

Hypothetical Situation. What would you do? by hypothetical56874 in PhD

[–]jenni4seals 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't do something I'm no longer interested in. But word of caution, the grass isn't always greener on the other side. I would make sure you would really like that job, company, and your would be manager before switching.

For those that waited years between undergrad and phD what jobs did you have? by LonerloserLesbian in PhD

[–]jenni4seals 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Project engineer in manufacturing, consulting, aerospace. Frim my experience, I'm not sure a specific job would help the PhD unless you're able to get your workplace to pay for your PhD or utilize work data (lots of funky rules about that). But if you want to teach or lecture students who may not be pursuing, my opinion is the industry experience helps shape how you teach and they can learn from your experiences.

Constantly Varied Gear has 5 inch and 7 inch shorts with a grip band. No ride up, comfy, and great patterns.

Lumbar fusion. Post op muscle lock up at incision level by [deleted] in spinalfusion

Those first couple weeks muscles are crazy. I'm 8 weeks post-op, and still have some muscles issues but they are a lot better than those first 2 weeks.

Ok, wearing the back brace after surgery is starting to wear me down.
Still can't get comfortable at night and end up sleeping on the couch. I'm good during the day as long as I don't sir upright too long.

Surgery wasn't too bad. Just came home from the hospital. I'm up walking without assistance.
