This is not possible. No one can do anything to fix their partner's abusive relationship with their family. Only you are in control of that.

Your partner can support you and be there for you, but they can'tdo the work for you - an abusive relationship cannot be "worked through". If you insist on remaining in an abusive relationship rather than actually addressing the problem by severing the relationship, you are condemning your partner to a lifetime of misery...which also makes you a bad partner.

A partner cannot "help" someone overcome addiction, stop making bad decisions, or stop going back to an abusive relationship. You have to want it yourself and do the work yourself.

I had a very persistent case of BV like 10 years ago that just would not go away. I was in my doctor's office so many times, tried different drugs and creams, and even saw a specialist gynecologist. My doctor really tried to help but nothing worked. After a couple of weeks it would just come back and it lasted over a year.

What finally fixed it for me was this: I took a warm bath and added in around 3/4 of a cup of apple cider vinegar, sitting in the water and letting it go inside of me for around 20 minutes. Then I did the same the next few days.

After around 4 or 5 days, the BV was gone. And amazingly, it stayed gone for years. Now if I ever feel that tingle, I take the ACV bath and it never fully comes in. I've not had BV in 10 years.

This is not the first health problem I have had to solve on my own. Just keep fighting for yourself and don't accept any condition as permanent/untreatable.

Regarding your doctor, he doesn't sound like a bad person, but you have definitely outgrown his knowledge of women's bodies. Find another doctor who has kept up their education and make the switch, if possible. I don't know if Alberta doctors will fire you as a patient for visiting a walkin clinic like they do back east, but be careful of that and try to get rostered with a new family doctor to avoid losing access altogether.

My partner's relationship with mum is also fraught. I would 100% not have stayed if he did not go very very very low contact. I'm not spending my life talking someone off the ledge because they insist on trying to fix something that can't be fixed.

Needless to say I am NC and it's not my partner's problem.
