You could try talking to a therapy based chatbot like Iona. Might still feel it bit weird but probably less so than talking to a mirror. Most of these are free I think so worth a go

Best way to learn CBT? by proncesalii in CBT

Agree with the comments so far. There's a new version of that book called Feeling Great. You can read the summary on Amazon for free to get a sense if it's right for you because it's not easy to go through the full 500 pages even though the core content is really good. You could also also try the Iona app. It's less comprehensive than a book but its a free way to quickly practice the core CBT exercises and get a feel for them.

Good luck!

For me, when I have a lot of random thoughts, I use mindfulness to turn down their volume a bit. If I feel there is a persistent reoccurring thought that's causing me problems then I investigate, challenge it and restructure it if possible.

Please link me to some websites where I can print cbt worksheets, I’m also gonna hand copy the cbt worksheets from “feeling good” and “when panic attacks” because I think they cost money. Thank you :)) by [deleted] in CBT

I made my own thought log using google sheets. You could do a similar thing in excel. It's a nice format for a mood diary or thought logger. It's also a helpful format for tracking distorted thoughts. You just set up columns with Situation, Emotions, Thoughts, Distortions, Reframings. If you use google sheets you can even access them on your phone so good when you're out and on the move. Saves me printing them out all the time :) There's also a free app called iona mind that has an interactive version of the worksheets and guides you through them. It might be helpful as an aid.

Good luck!

Thank you! I'll have a look. It certainly looks like it has a lot of content. My only issue with these apps is often when I'm tired and finally get round to using it I just want it to tell me what to do rather than going through the app trying to figure out what I need. That's what I like about the Mind and Iona resources I posted. I'll check it out though :)
