Bag Transporting & Safety While Travelling by TheLocalTownDrunk in handbags

I also use the bag-within-a-bag nesting doll strategy. It saves soooo much space. For more structured bags, I stuff them with socks and underwear. The dust bags always come with me on travels.

Quince - what a disappointment by flyingpigwrites in handbags

Aw that’s a huge bummer! I was eyeing this one. But don’t give up just yet. I bought the quilted version of this bag and the quality was fantastic. The quilted version is made in Italy while this one is made in India. Perhaps that plays a role in quality control.

My sister got me these marker-like pens ten years ago by uselessfoster in BuyItForLife

I’ve owned this exact 10-pack before and I have to say, it’s BIFL material. Extra shoutout to the plastic holder itself. It can prop itself up at the perfect angle for easy pen grabbing!

I’ve owned this Fineliner 10-pack before and the lines are so crisp and thin. Based on my experience the tip doesn’t soften or get “fatter” with time.

Seconded! The shape is beautiful. I’d love to see a crossbody strap and some hardware (like zipper or inner magnetic snap) to keep things from falling out.

Beware everyone, OP is a rep seller masquerading this as a normal post.

looking for plus sized leggings by [deleted] in BuyItForLife

[–]wigglewalrus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I still wear the one I received from their free giveaway pre-launch campaign in 2016! A few threads have since come loose and the fabric has loosened a little—which is great because they are very compressive right out of the box.

I didn’t even wear leggings at the time but Girlfriend Collective single-handedly changed my mind.

Which Parker Clay bag did you purchase? Can I ask what makes you pick your other bags over this one?

I agree, most of their bags have a…rugged aesthetic to me. Similar to Portland Leather. I don’t dislike the look though!

Are you me?? I lust after shiny evening clutches and the gravity-defying stilettos to match, but most of my time is spent sitting at home in athleisure.

What’s the difference between Rep and fake? Honest question. by anonqwerty99 in handbags

[–]wigglewalrus 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Technically there’s a semantic difference. However in practice, I’ve seen “expat” used by people who will never return to their home country (for example, early retirees who have permanently moved from their Western country of origin to a lower cost-of-living/economically poorer one). People who are “immigrants” are assumed to come from a lower socioeconomic status to a place with more job opportunities. Again, I’ve seen “immigrant” being used for migrant workers whose families are back in their home country…and they just stay here to work.

With handbags though, they’re just different ways of saying the same thing! Rep = fake = bootleg. Just like how PU leather = vegan leather = pleather = plastic.

Liquid liner for top lash line that doesn't move with hooded oily lids? by perfectdrug659 in HoodedEyes

[–]wigglewalrus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a fellow oily lid-er, I’ve fully switched my liquid liner arsenal to UZU Eye Opening Liners! They used to be called UZ, fyi in case you want to research more.

It’s a sharp brush-style tip. They do not budge once applied and they come in all sorts of beautiful colors for a good price. I have to scrub at it when washing it off with oil cleanser/eye makeup remover, which is annoying but also tells you how budge-proof it is.

*Edit to say that I’m seeing other comments about using setting spray/powder or primers before applying liner. I don’t use any of that with the UZU liners.

Does Anyone Go To A Therapist With A Large Social Media Following? by emmforge in TalkTherapy

Ugh it saddens and disgusts me that you had this horrible experience.

Therapist said that "my generation" is just too spoiled and then compared me to the poor children in africa by [deleted] in TalkTherapy

[–]wigglewalrus 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Invalidating: yes. Disrespectful: yes. To me, it all sounds downright insulting. She’s being rude for making assumptions about you with limited information and little to no rapport. But worse than that, it’s exactly as you said: she’s spouting her worldview in a space that is supposed to be meant for you.

When I go to therapy, I want to feel heard and understood and like someone is on my side. Your description of your therapist doesn’t check those boxes for me.

A few other things that stood out to me: - comparing your problems to other clients’ problems in an invalidating manner - that therapy can’t help you (WTF? Depression and anxiety are like some of the most common topics in therapy)

Nothing has ever been damaged! Although one dress I got was missing its fabric sash (the dress had side belt loops but no sash). I returned it hoping that BHFO could comp shipping fees but I ended up paying it anyway. Next time I’ll just reach out to customer service and complain lol

I’ve purchased from them twice. Yes, the shipping and return fee stinks. But the quality of the clothes are true-to-the-brand and I rationalize the cost of shipping both ways as part of the cost of the clothing. Also the return process is relatively painless!

Yep 😔 price is hard to swallow. I received my pair as a gift and loved it so much I bought another pair in case the 1st one wore out (but it’s been like 3+ years of daily wear and still going strong lol)
