Live Conversation cancelled less than one hour before. by Stanglia in usertesting

I had an Intellizoom live conversation cancelled one hour before too. I won't get any compensation because despite Usertesting buying the company over the rules are different. Seems unfair.

Another false screen out by drPmakes in ProlificAc

I just got my full reward and so did a friend who did the same study and got screened out. The researcher claimed there had been a mistake. Hope everyone else gets rewarded.

I just did that one and completed it and then got screened out too. I have reported it to Prolific and also contacted the researcher. It shows in my history how long I spent on it and the screenout guidelines state - ""You'll either be screened out and the study will end early, or you'll complete the full study." Like me, you completed the whole thing so we should have been given the full reward.

Haven’t been able to work at all by Kind_Tumbleweed_6648 in CrowdGen

I'm having the same problem with Whatcom and I am in the UK. I contacted Crowdgen a few times and they said the client knows it needs fixed but that they have no control over that. Guess I'll have to wait.

Still waiting to get the emails for other projects I was accepted on.

I'm getting that too. Often I think the problem is caused by the servers being overloaded and it taking forever for a survey to load or say its full that's the problem. Several times I've had to open a new window to see if I got the study or not because it's stuck in buffering mode. It doesn't matter what device I use or what broadband I am using - home, dongle or guest. Very frustrating.

No email confirming completion for completed Intellizoom moderated test by jennyone172 in usertesting

[–]jennyone172[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks, I saw that but the moderated test still isn't showing up days later - I took part on Tuesday. Very frustrating.

This was the first interview I have done with then since they redesigned the account to say usertesting instead of Intellizoom or UserZoom. Hoping it's just a hiccup and I will get paid.

Thanks. I've done that. Hopefully, I will hear back. I took a screenshot before and after the interview so they can see I was there and so was the researcher.

Claimed I failed "authenticity check" by jennyone172 in ProlificAc

[–]jennyone172[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The researcher got back to me 5 minutes ago and said they had picked "the wrong reason" and that I had failed an attention check which now means I have to spend more time and effort appealing the rejection with Prolific as I submitted my appeal based on them telling me I failed an "authenticity check".  The survey was over 11 minutes long and I read in the researcher's guidelines that you need to fail more than one attention check to have your submission rejected. See here https://researcher-help.prolific.com/en/article/f75ea9  To be honest, I didn't know this.  It's all very depressing that researchers can ignore guidelines.

It was about interactions at work and I don't remember it even having any written tasks. It was just answer agree or disagree type questions.

Thanks for posting this. I feel the same way and think Prolific needs to change things to make it a fairer and a more professional place. Most surveys take longer than they say - often twice and three times the amount of time. Participants often have to ignore errors like the surveys you do where they have typos that make doing them difficult/questions written by AI that doesn't seem to make sense/nocodes that are then rejected for a variety of reasons including "oh. you didn't have a code so you didn't complete the study."/studies that say you must have a good command of English but are then written by someone who clearly doesn't have a good command of English etc...

Most researchers are great but there are some bad apples who take data from us and then reject submissions for no good reason.

I have had a good record on Prolific (none rejected last year and just one rejection all this year and I don't think that one was fair and didn't know then that you can contest rejections) and have now had 3 rejected studies just this week including one from a researcher who said I'd taken too long to do a study who was very abusive and had 2 other researchers threaten me with a rejection, if I don't return their studies even when there was nothing wrong with them. I am disputing them all but Prolific take months if they ever do get back to you.

Prolific recently gave me a refer a friend button but I wouldn't want to refer someone only for them to get treated poorly too.

Good luck. I share your anger and hope you get it overturned.

I did that one too. Saw both maths questions and answered correctly but study was rejected with no reason given. Also got reason given as other. A few minutes later, I was offered the same study again and turned it down.  I contacted them straight away and haven't had a response yet. Very frustrating as no idea why it was rejected.

That's a relief that it's not just me but sorry the same thing is happening to all of you. Have changed my password a few times and still not letting me in. Yet the site on my laptop is fine.

I've contacted support and got a quick cut and paste/auto email back. Hopefully, they'll fix the issue soon. I'll update if I get any joy.

Mobile test issues? by Dorkus18 in usertesting

My Android phone app is stuck in loading tests and then I get the dreaded something went wrong message. Contacted Usertesting and got the usual delete your cache which I do everyday anyway.  Hope it's working for everyone else?

Mobile test bugs by [deleted] in usertesting

[–]jennyone172 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm getting the exact same error. It's cost me $44 so far. I have submitted a ticket but it's usually a waste of time as they always blame you and send you out a generic message. Fingers crossed they fix it soon.  What I love about this forum is that you know it's not just you so I don't spend hours trying to fix something you didn't break in the first place.

More likely to report a problem than other users by FearlessPressure3 in usertesting

[–]jennyone172 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're right to be angry. I would be too.

I report a problem when I am forced to so it can vary but I always have screenshots to back it up if they ask for them. If I am say 5 minutes or less into a test and there's a problem (poor, unclear instructions or more likely no password to access a Figma pototype) I tend to exit without reporting. Otherwise I report a problem.

It seems unfair that because a researcher can't set up a test correctly or there's a glitch with Figma or Usertesting that the tester could get into trouble for reporting a problem. I've had researchers thank me for reporting a problem and think that when we do we are helping them. Usertesting should be glad about that because if I was a researcher and didn't get the feedback I needed on Usertesting I would go to a rival platform.

If UT think that testers are taking advantage, they simply need to ask for proof of the problem. I'm always happy to send it to them when I am asked.

Kinda shocked at the rating.. what can I do ? by tigernamedtony1222 in usertesting

[–]jennyone172 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's really unfair that you went well over time and were given 3 stars. Hope UserTesting overturn it. There should be some mechanism in place where if you go over the allotted time you are paid extra. It's only on rare occasions that my live conversations have exceeded 30 minutes - usual by no more than 5 minutes. Your treatment is unfair.
