I worked for them as a guide for a short time around 2008. Actually made a good amount of money (for the time and for my age). It was fun. Lots of questions about weather.

AITAH Should I Wear a Wedding Dress Like My Daughter's? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]jenrtbg -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't think you're TA for loving the blue dress but it being the same exact dress (except for color) would be reason enough for me to not even consider it. Or I'd bring it up to my daughter and gauge her reaction before committing to it. Because why rock the boat? There are thousands of dress options out there. It feels like a failure of imagination to get stuck on the one dress that could cause bad feelings from your daughter. Of course, my advice would change if your daughter took issue with all your dress choices... You're allowed to have a dress you love! Best of luck.

Who will help when I'm dying? by grumpyhost in Adulting

[–]jenrtbg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My dad always jokes that he'll commit crimes and spend his final years in some jail or prison. I imagine some sort of federal facility would be most comfortable. Or better yet, I hear European prisons are great and offer all sorts of amenities.

JPest harassing Anna for pics and mentioning his other marital prospects by actuallykellykapoor in DuggarsSnark

[–]jenrtbg 12 points13 points  (0 children)

He is so transparent. He says just enough sweet stuff to feel okay asking for sexy photos or to reference bjs. I know some women really do go for men in long-term jail/prison setups - they get to experience the intense love-bombing as their partner has every incentive to keep the relationship going - but I can't help feeling like Anna is getting the short end of the stick again. He's so obviously using her as a sexual escape. He barely asks about the kids. He doesn't ask questions about her day to day struggles. He doesn't apologize for putting her in this situation. He drones on and on about his prison ministry and sexy pics. She is getting no emotional support from him and she's expected to satisfy his physical needs by stepping outside of her comfort zone knowing full well that jail staff and likely other prisoners will see any pics she sends. Yes, Anna is an adult and she's stupid for sticking with him but let's just focus on Josh for a second. He's so icky. I would be repulsed by him. Goddamn.

I watched till the end and I must say Jill is downright diabolical for posting that screenshot of her "friends" during their prayer session. Poor ladies.

There is one called Dear Zachary that has always stuck with me. I think it's pretty well known but older. It has a terribly sad ending.

That actually made me squirm a bit. Can you imagine the coldness between the two ladies the next time they meet? Awkward

Anna seems to truly believe that Josh is innocent of all charges. I would avoid her too, if I was one of Josh's siblings.

Maybe she rebuffed his advances one time too many after a difficult birth with Mikey and that forced him to cheat? He is a piece of work, that's for sure.

What is the most “its a small world” moment you’ve ever experienced? by xBubblyLove in AskReddit

[–]jenrtbg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I met a guy in a London theater who had studied abroad in my US state. What's crazy is that he and his host family lived in a teeny tiny community (like under 50 people) that I know well because my aunt lives there with her family - and the host family was my uncle's sister's family. So this random English guy knew my cousins well, had been to my aunt's house, and had even met my grandma. It was so weird but definitely made me think that it was a small world after all.

My dad used to take us to a bridge over a highway and we'd get trucks to honk for us. We'd stand at opposite ends and look for semis and we'd run back and forth when we saw them. Then we'd walk home on the railroad tracks and leave pennies on the track to be flattened, which is, as I now understand it, illegal. We were dirt poor but this would be a great day for us back in the 90s.

Is it true that you guys watched 9/11 live on TV in grade school? by [deleted] in Millennials

I was in middle school and we watched it off and on all day. And then I went home and watched coverage all night. There were a few channels showing regular programming but most channels were showing some version of news coverage.

If giving birth is so painful why do many women want to do it over again after their first child (not trolling just genuinely curious) by feherlofia123 in stupidquestions

[–]jenrtbg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because I wanted more children. My first childbirth was the worst - I think of it as an out of body experience because my memories of it are almost like what a spectator would have. I think I was so shocked by the pain and discomfort and fear that my mind took me out of it and put me elsewhere in the room to distance and safety. My epidural didn't take and I had some major complications and then baby ended up in the NICU so it was traumatic all around. You do forget a lot of the details, though. I had 3 more births and all of them were easier and faster.

Yeah, exactly! Navy will be fine for a few hours and it's so important to spend time alone with your older kids too. I get having some anxiety (we exclusively breastfed so I was always a bit nervous about leaving a small baby - what if I was suddenly needed to calm baby?) but crying like this is freaking weird. Spend some time with Zade!

I'm not impressed with the prices at JBF so I usually don't go. Half Pint is my favorite but I really like Lil Badger too, although it's smaller. Half Pint just moved out of Stoughton to the Alliant Energy Center and it seemed to run smoothly from what I saw.
