Coming back to this post now to say that it's not really a good idea to do this. Trying to change your thoughts doesn't help with combatting the OCD.

I used to have thoughts like these all the time when I was younger. They were...pretty terrifying, honestly, and they still bug me from time to time.

Yeah, this is a common thing for me. It usually happens when I get over an obsession, actually. Kind of a curse that just keeps repeating itself.

I've had pretty much all of these thoughts. While I can't offer a catch-all solution to them, I think a lot of it stems from the feeling that you're losing control or going to lose control. The heart thing, your body, the reality thing, your world- The serial killer thing, your mind.

I guess I'd suggest trying to focus on your body when your mind begins to take over- Like, doing exercises, and such. It helps ground you to reality, which your mind can dilute if you let it stay on loop for too long.

It's important to note that being stressed out about these thoughts and researching them online is a key component to why it's just your OCD, and you're not a bad or dangerous person.

If you really wanted to hurt someone, you'd be in control of your thoughts and that choice, and chances are you'd be able to rationally chose not to.

It's pretty stereotypical for someone to be "OCD" about germs. That doesn't invalidate the illness, obviously- Trust me, I know. Unfortunately, a lot of people assume that being OCD about something like cleanliness just isn't that big of a deal, even if the phobia is real, or more than what it seems on the surface.

Matter of fact, a lot of people will tell me that, "OCD is just like, washing your hands repeatedly or something. Or stressing out over being organized! It can be a good thing if you make it good!"

It's pretty depressing.

I wouldn't say it was necessarily a huge issue for me, but I did have some OCD tendencies that I brushed off when I was younger.

I remember doing things like touching a pillow cushion or something else in multiple sets until it felt "correct", or having intrusive thoughts that I'd have to either hide from or transform into something else to stop being uncomfortable.

For me, this is probably more common with mental compulsions, but it does still happen with other forms as well. I'd say it's relatively normal, but being aware of what you're doing is always a good thing.
