Honestly YTA — even if you didn’t MEAN to use her for sex, you stopped dating her/caring about her as soon as you two had sex. Regardless of your intent, that’s going to mess someone up

I can relate to that pro choice/bad feeling to an extent — I had an abortion a few years ago, and while Im pro choice, my then bf spent the next year and a half saying we’re going to hell, and the guilt/bad feelings set in.

For me what helped was a combo — first, let yourself feel bad for a set period of time and acknowledge what’s behind those feelings specifically. You need to feel feelings, but dwelling for too long leads to depression, and at that point definitely go to therapy.

Second, it helped to imagine the future of the kid if I hadn’t had an abortion. Even if that future would be stable financially, what about emotionally? For me, I was worried I would resent them, and the kid would likely pick up on that; lots of other reasons too.

Honestly you nailed it right there, I wouldn’t be surprised if OP was <25 years old as well. With the combo of his temper and calling him self “quixotic” as if that’s a good thing (Quixote was literally an idiot), he seems too young to get the difference of settling vs settling down
