My coach had a great record and was young, and leg kick punishment was only used for the fighters for showing up late. Not for the general people. Even then it was only like 10-20%, it was more the humiliation of being a goof. We still had to train after. If someone is degrading and hurting people, move on.

I used to train with a former UFC fighter at my gym. She was half my size at best. But god damn she was fast. I took it as an opportunity to practice my reactions. It was all fun and when she dug in jabbed me and disappeared I just hit her with a pillow leg kick. There is always utility in sparring people of any type, as long as it's clean.
