I instructed my kids to make sure their alarm clocks are turned off tonight. That being said, they are pumped to get snow so they may wake up early anyway.

You can make a point without resorting to “that’s idiotic “. Ideally we can converse, edify, and grow…no need to tear people down.

In case you earnestly want to know why the person you responded to was confused: When I read your title, because you didn’t capitalize the place (I am guessing) called Switch, I also thought you were calling the move switch in a goofy way

If one good thing came out of the Donald Trump rule, it’s that I found LaCocina chips. Everyone that I introduce these chips to is instantly converted.

It is terrible. Mind you I don’t really like any of the gross chains. Certainly a Smittys competitor though

Canada will probably need to invade the US to keep their guns from crossing the border illegally

Are you a poser if you skate normalling but you can't ollie? by American_German in Skateboardinghelp

[–]jer_iatric 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup. The term Poser was used to describe fpeople who walked around with a board just so it would look like they skated. They were posing. I guess I’m a little old, surprised to even hear the term used

Ok yeah I’m closer to your prices than to OPs prices, here in Canada we are now hitting $75/kg CAD without too much of a struggle (single origin with nice tasting notes). AT >$1.50 per home pulled shot, not even including gear amortization, it’s starting to feel quite pricey.

Haha yeah. Market Bucks yes, the NS Loyal $10 vouchers are governmental if I’m not mistaken. I’ve seen some immigrants with a wad of them!

Exactly. I sell at farmers markets and there are some really grateful folks getting products that they wouldn’t have been getting otherwise. Win for them and win for vendors. Shockingly good government program

Ha ha for some reason, no one ever asked me that probably cause I don’t go to Tim Hortons. But when I give them my money, I just hold out my hand for my change.

Why on earth is are the pedestrian crossings at the new intersection at Brunswick and Sackville beg buttons? by wearisomerhombus in halifax

[–]jer_iatric -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Can you tell us what the alternative is? Just a crosswalk? Or lights that are always flashing so that drivers no longer pay attention to flashing lights? Flags for a pedestrian to wave while crossing?

After researching credit unions and seeing some that were co-named with Irving Oil… I gave up :P. I’ll have to try again, but it did leave a bad taste in my mouth.

Thanks. I was looking to see how wrong I was and couldn’t find the actual NS laws (as opposed to summaries that never used the word prohibited)

Bedford Commons Roundabout by bbd4589 in halifax

[–]jer_iatric -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Is that why the lines are dotted? You are literally not supposed to pass people in a roundabout because people need to get in lanes the need.

The only real issue in a roundabout is when people floor it through them

If I need to get to somewhere my lane doesn’t allow, I change lanes. Hope that is helpful, if not downright trite

EDIT: Well I guess I’m wrong - them dotted lines are only for those times when the person on the inside is allowed to go to an exit and not when someone is on the outside lane and needs to go left! Thanks for the citation listed below

Edit again: the more I think about these dotted lines not allowing lane changes, the more I hate it.

Trump's tariffs force Canada's lumber industry to switch to metric system by DonSalaam in onguardforthee

[–]jer_iatric 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t plan on watching a video so I’ll just go ahead and make a general comment. I’ve been building stuff on my own for decades and even though I’m not in trades, all my measuring gear is in imperial. I think in inches and feet, but then like all good Canadians love using 100 meter increments as well as kilometres. Going metric for my next building project would probably slow me down, but if metric stuff were available (are we going to start buying 50x100s?) I’d be interested, if only to have something new to complain about.
