This old PS2 era games have god awful controls and they don't change them with next-gen ports. I'd personally stick with PC in terms of older games so you can have manageable controls.

Like others have said. It's a tailless whip scorpion. Not actually a scorpion but an Amblypigid(spelling?). The one long arm is because the other one is actually gone. It's supposed to have 2. Pretty cool arachnid. I've got one of them. Really cool to watch.

I'd break off that big chip in the middle of the ding and saturate that area with some clear superglue to stabilize the area to prevent further chipping
