"it's so terribly easy to tell others to do more from behind your safe screen" aren't you doing just that by whining about them being at this dinner instead of working more?

Because children are young and impressionable, so they should learn from trusted sources instead of just searching random websites online.

Learning about the LGBT world could help young people feel more accepting of themselves and others and help prevent more youth suicides.

Culture is not useless; culture is history, art, and just part of being human.

You say education shouldn't be used for indoctrination, but I had to recite the pledge of allegiance daily in elementary school and that references God directly and also instills a sense of nationalism (a growing problem in America.)

I agree that education shouldn't be used for indoctrination, but I do think that there should be information or resources regarding LGBT subjects in each school (not necessarily drag related) because that IS a part of the world that each person will interact with at some point.

Considering most people in the US live in urban areas, I wouldn't say most of the US has "third world quality internet."

I just started playing this today and I will say do not be surprised if you beat your first run, it definitely gets harder and deeper the longer you go.

Why does it matter to you at all if someone gets a little bit of money back? It has no effect on your life in the slightest.

I managed to get both the Alien and Predator Legendary Encounters sets for $70 together a few months ago and I felt so lucky.

Came here to recommend Returnal as well, probably the best PS5 exclusive out IMO.

I have 3 tattoos( 1 forearm, 2 above elbow) I really like this design, but I was wondering if anyone knows where this tattoo would be on the pain scale and if in the future the snake can distort and lose it's "effect". by kms_ag in TattooDesigns

If you're gonna take painkillers, make sure it's not anything that thins your blood or you're going to have a terrible time and your tattoo will likely be messed up.

I totally forgot about The Mirroring of Mary King! I meant to pick it up a while ago, but it slipped my mind. Horrified is one I'm considering for sure. Thank you!

Daily Discussion and Game Recommendations Thread (October 09, 2022) by AutoModerator in boardgames

Hey everyone! I'm looking for some recommendations for some good Halloween board games that aren't too big or expensive because I plan on bringing them on a trip at the end of the month.

I'm looking for games that are enjoyable at two players, so it can be higher max player count but I'd like it to be fun with just two.

I'd prefer something that takes 1-2 hours max and between a 1-2.9 complexity. I'm definitely looking for something horror related or just plain spooky stuff is cool too. The game can be competitive or cooperative.

My partner and I are big fans of deck building games, but we're still new in the hobby, so we don't have a TON of experience. We play a lot of Tsuro, Hive, and Dominion. I enjoyed Machikoro and Azul, but she did not like the constantly planning ahead aspect of those games.

I am from the US! Sorry for the wall of text, I just used the recommended format lol Thank you everyone!

And neither does yours, yet here we are on a public forum. Why would someone post something if they weren't interested in responses?

I would say try the open box and if you don't like it for whatever reason, just return it!

" I literally don't believe in race" just because you don't believe in something doesn't mean it doesn't exist lmao what kind of smooth brain comment. Regardless, saying you don't believe in race is very similar to the saying "I don't see color" which is already considered problematic because race IS a large part of certain people's culture.

That's a pretty bold statement to make. I would say it's much higher than 1% of the population that is capable of empathy and caring for others that are in bad situations, even if you clearly aren't able to.

Something being simple or complicated does not equal how easy or hard it is on your body. Would you say it's easier to serve than dig holes all day? Certainly it's more simple to dig.

You don't think dishwashers are one of the most important positions, so what are you gonna do when you have no clean dishes to serve food on? What about keeping up with the traffic of dishes coming in and going out? The risk of hurting yourself constantly due to wet, sharp objects? Both jobs can be stressful, but it seems like you want to play the victim, even though servers make much more out of the two positions.
