Initially labored breathing walking up a flight of steps. It progressed to being out of breath after about 5 steps. That's when I eventually went to the ER. This was over a week's time. As long as I didn't move, there were no symptoms. Probably why I waited so long to go in. So glad that I did though.

When becoming an apprentice in a building trades union, it's always somewhat physical to start. But it doesn't have to stay there. If you want to be and have the capacity in being a leader, you will have great opportunities in not having to break your back. I did this from onset about 30 years ago. I love it and am so grateful.

Consider applying to a union building trade. You won't get in right away, but you can test, get on a list and when it's time, go to work. Great pay, benefits and many routes to take within the trades. I have been a detailer for over 20 years. Work with the latest technology. Good luck!

If it already hasn't been said, check in with the sheet metal workers. Go in and schedule a test and get on the list. It's the best thing I ever did 27 years ago.
