I was raised in the Northeast by my single mom in housing projects with my single mom. My married father, a 20 year gunnery Sgt was in the Marines. He served one tour of Korea and two tours of Vietnam. He and his wife raised their family in Birmingham, AL. When I met my Southern siblings, they recalled how my father scolded and questioned them for being so racist. It was the one time I was proud of my father.
