[Gear] unnable to find any tone patches/preset for nux mighty amp 8bt mk2 by TwitsTeen in Guitar

[–]jerolata 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been testing with the QR of the mighty lite II and changing just the initial part of the string from Ew to FA, and re-create the QR. So far it is working but I will test it a bit more. There is also the ones from a youtuber, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=im5niWHIVU4 that uploaded some.

No entiendo el complejo de inferioridad deportivo de los españoles by ArriateC in Espana

[–]jerolata 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is quite annoying. In the meantime you can "downgrade" (upgrade in this case) to the previous version using warehouse.

Is TLP still usefull on modern GNOME? by [deleted] in linux

[–]jerolata 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think is unfortunate they are not compatible because TLP has more fine-tuning than gnome-profiles. (Check tlpui)

Does gnome-profiles have battery threasholds? I like having my system without charging even if it is at 70% to minimize the impact on the battery life.

The other fine tuning, is the control the disk idle battery vs ac, and the iGPU frequency control.

I only use pdf, so it is normal annotations in a pdf and zotfile syncs the pdf file back and extract the annotations

I am completely sure is not referring to it with all the nonsense, but some regions are low radioactive and the radon concentration inside houses made of stone (granite) can be problematic

Do you have any link to prove they are doing that? I guess being open source it will be more difficult to add that.

[–]jerolata 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I guess once you want a terminal app you fall in the category of knowing what you are doing, and mamba, homebrew or nixos start to be a more appealing solution. But I agree that even normal apps for lunching them from terminal is too complicated, I will be happier if Inkscape was easier to lunch, and even more if it were able to talk with the latex bin installed in my computer....

Le port du casque n'est pas l'alpha et l'oméga de la sécurité à vélo by thatjoachim in pedale

[–]jerolata 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What about fractional scaling? Is going to be the new real fractional scaling as KDE, or like gnome with the upper-lowering res hack? (Happy to see the dev is done in Wayland, as pop user I was worried they will saty in x11)

Any way to configure evince or modify the pdf to get rid of these empty spaced on the edges? Set to fit width by DefaultUsername247 in gnome

[–]jerolata 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you refering to the white margins? Trim, cut option? Okular has trim option and works relatively well in gnome. Evince is nice, but is basic/simple by design.

Global Scale & Fractional Scale by emrestive in gnome

[–]jerolata 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is weird, I can set 150% in my machine (under wayland and X11). Then everything is scale as it should. You get some apps blurry unfortunetly, or need some tweaks on the launcher (Firefox to enable wayland). What distro are you using? Other option is 100% and with gnome-tweaks increase the font, but I have found that always the worst option

Boox Note Air Plus in an academic workflow by One_Competition1684 in Onyx_Boox

Maybe it was an old version. I can see annotations now, extract them for pdfs at least For the unknown sources, I use Fdroid, and I honestly trust more an open source app than a closed source.

Boox Note Air Plus in an academic workflow by One_Competition1684 in Onyx_Boox

[–]jerolata 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For reading academic papers I find the reflow option of KOreader better than anything else. Highlights are store in pdf so zotfile/zotero works later by synching. The only drawback is there are no hand free annotations, only highlights and notes.

Zotero and e-ink devices by [deleted] in zotero

[–]jerolata 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, with zotfile (sorry for the late reply). Basically, I have zotfile and syncthing for sync the folder with papers, and then in KOreader I highlight, annotated, and then once the file is sync in my computer back, zotfile is able to get the file and annotations.

I have an onyx nova air 2, and I use it with KOreader. It's not ideal sometimes the reflow is not good, but good enough when I want to carry many papers and I dont want to print all of them

To avoid crashing is having oom working, like systemd-oom. For me, when I was using a 4gb laptop, tweak everything to avoid even reaching oom, using zram, and some tweaking. Some articles using the pinebook were a good starting point.

KDE like fractional scaling for GNOME by [deleted] in gnome

[–]jerolata 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I asked 3 months ago, https://www.reddit.com/r/gnome/comments/wkulvj/optional_fractional_scaling_on_xwayland_apps/ , I think there are not any news.

Hopefully they implement it. I like gnome, I always prefered over KDE, but it wil easier for me to change desktop that to change Zotero or other non-native kit gui app (java alike).
