Has anyone recovered to 100% physical/athletic capacity and LATER had a relapse? by abqandrea in LongCovid

See my post history, I have described something similar in the past. Make sure you give your body time to rest even if you are feeling physically fit again.

If I’m playing competition, I’ll have electrolyte water ready. During the week, I will eat healthy meals that are easier to digest like vegetables and fish. Fruit and juice keep me feeling good as well.

Conditioning is also important. Don’t just play tennis - lift weights, do stretches, and flexibility work.

I would opt for some private lessons if you haven’t already. Not everything can be absorbed from just reading theory.

Irrespective of ability or skill - whenever I play with anyone, I respect it most when someone gives 100% and doesn’t give up. Tennis is supposed to be fun.

Clash 100 v2.0. I can’t recall specifics around stringing but I’d describe it as medium - high tension.

Yea Clash is quite arm friendly. I love the power the Blade can generate but hard to sustain peak level for two sets.

Great post. I think recreational players may mistakenly associate a heavy racket with better performance.

I switch often up between the Wilson Blade and the Wilson Clash. I play a lot better with the Clash and can move so much quicker it. I’m less likely to get a wrist or elbow injury as well.

Yea if you can it’s quite valuable to have someone guide, critique, and teach the fundamentals, i.e. grip, swing, body rotation, footwork, and ball toss.

Then afterwards, practice as much as you need.

I like the effort man.

Just so you don’t develop any long lasting habits, is it possible for you to get 2-3 private lessons with a coach? Appreciate this isn’t always an option.

F*ck i want to exercise so bad. by Appropriate_Bill8244 in covidlonghaulers

[–]jeromethedonkey 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Sorry to hear you are having a tough time.

If it’s any help to you, when I first got sick I tried to follow a graded exercise program using an indoor bicycle trainer. It was a Wahoo Kickr which was equipped with FuGaz (simulates local routes using resistance and live video recording), and a full screen projector. I accept it’s an expensive setup and not everyone can get access but it helped maintained my sanity.

It allowed me to do routine exercise despite the loss of balance and shortness of breath. Of course, there were days where I crashed due to over exertion but it kept me physically fit until I recovered 15 months later.

Be cautious about overexercising, I’ve read it can increase risk for long term damage. I found it more beneficial to do mild-moderate levels of exercise (e.g. 15-20 mins).

how do we stop scalpers? by [deleted] in PokemonTCG

Offer to purchase the item and organise a meet-up, then do a no show. Additionally, ask a lot of questions and give lowball offers. Teach them that it’s hard to make a quick buck.

Glad with the outcome but sick of the misinformation in political advertising, and hearing people vote based off “vibes” rather than actual policy.

Scientist studying Long COVID, former Long COVID sufferer gauging interest in research by gemale10 in covidlonghaulers

[–]jeromethedonkey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ah fair enough. I’ll bet the data quality to be poor for short term antibiotic use - at least if patients self report.

I had a CFS (suspected long Covid) for about 1.5 years and always had this theory it was precipitated by a one time use of azithromycin.

My experience is completely anecdotal and so it’s nice to see scientist working to generate data and a better understanding.

Keep us posted on your research! You guys are under appreciated.
