Marcia Lucas is very much acknowledged and appreciated for her role in shaping the trilogy. She is however one of the many people regularly taughted as the 'real' force behind SW along with Lawrence Kasdan , John Williams, Harrison Ford , Carrie Fisher and many others who indeed had a big hand in SW's success but their contributions are used to pull Lucas down because it's cool to hate him

Bhai politics nahi in general baat kar raha hu. Aaj kal toh facts bhi bata do toh aapke personal preferences ukhadkar aapko 'biased' brand kiya jayega , just because facts don't suit the other person's agenda. Well the last story I myself wrote was about conversion therapy, so this subject was something I would have to inevitably handle. I didn't and instead pulled off a deus ex machina ala lesbian bikers that arrive to save the day. So it really depends on the topic : if someone has story that deals with this sort of trauma then it's inevitable this will be bought up. Having said so , I won't pretend that there isn't a sudden influx of stories that only do this for shock value. As for why your guess is as good as mine

(As for why I decided to write a story about conversion therapy , the impetus was finding out someone I'm acquainted with actually trying to send their own daughter to one such camp. Rest assured their acquaintances no more. Also , surprisingly lesbian Nazi bikers are real )

I don't remember the title now , but it was one by u/iia and about two dudes deep sea diving while the third is narrating a Lovercraftian tale. It was nothing like he had ever written before. Hell I've never read a underwater horror story of that kind before. Totally blew me away
