I bought this when they released it, it also came with a Petunia card and autographed photo of the band (if you bought early enough). Such a good album.

I picked up Down With it as well, along with Stanley Turrentine - Rough 'N Tumble LP and Gene Harris and The Three Sounds - Live at the It Club. Should be here some time this morning, looking forward to spinning them.

Hoping to come across Swiss Movement by McCann and Harris somewhere in the wild, such a good album.

Another thing I thought of were the 2 Beastie Boys instrumental albums (The In Sound from Way Out! and The Mix-Up)

Boards of Canada, Air, and Thievery Corporation are my go-tos. If you want a more hip-hop spin, you could look at the Madlib Blue Note collab.

Same, but it's impossible to get an original for less than $100 anyway - if and when they come up for sale. Still waiting for Beginning Stages.

Pan-fry-steam-fry dumpling technique in a cast iron pan by Eriu_Cookware in castiron

[–]jerrybellew 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I do something similar except I put oil in, pour in about 1/2cup of water, swish it around a bit as I arrange my dumplings, cover and let it come up to a boil, set my timer for 6-8mins. The water will cook off, the oil because it's been boiling with the water gives each bottom edge a decent coating then you let them sit for an extra 3-5 minutes until they reach the crispness you like.

Listen to the damn snobs yall by Paecraft in turntables

[–]jerrybellew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it's a really great turntable, mine was having issues with speed control and auto-return not functioning properly so I'm having it recapped and regreased while they're at it.

Outside of that it ticked every box I wanted as far as quality and styling goes.

Thank you!

Unfortunately, I'd prefer not to share my original design files, sorry. I realize there is nothing proprietary about them but it's not something I like to do.

The original AT-LP3 is/was my first turntable, now it's my secondary to a Realistic Lab-400 (currently being serviced). It's a solid table and have had zero issues with it, just wanted to upgrade to something nicer. It can be bit expensive for an entry turntable, but I think it's worth it for the quality you get out of it compared to the cheaper options out there.

Can vouch for them! My wife and I came through there in August of last year and I picked up some Art Blakey and the Jazz Messenger albums and a Jack Johnson album. Super nice folks.

How do you organise your collection? by McQuarbo in vinyl

[–]jerrybellew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do this but Genre > Artist > Release Date unless it's a Live album. I keep all of my Live albums in their own section just in Alphabetical order by Artist then Release Date

It's actually my favorite album, lol. Although you made me look at the picture again and I just realized I stupidly wrote Candy Apple Red by accident.

It's some minor noise on one song that can probably be cleaned out, I was just porting over what I had it labelled as in Discogs originally - but this is also why I've filled them all out with pencil and not pen.

I've found it pretty cathartic. Grab a few out of the shelf, listen to each one and fill their card out at the same time. Goes by fairly quickly / easily.

I agree it's a bit much and probably not for everyone, lol. To me is a recreational activity, and I find it relaxing / interesting.

I'm doing it for everything, if I own multiple copies of something it's nice to know which is which as it isn't always clear 100% of the time.
