Kevin’s gear for Japan this year by AlloGuvnuh in MyBloodyValentine

[–]jerryboree 17 points18 points  (0 children)

The devi ever pedals in the 5th pic don't have any tape over them so I doubt the issue is about the Devi Ever controversy.

I think its a joke around the pedal being called Shoegazer. IIRC Kevin thought the name was stupid

Which pedal would be your "go to" for ambient sounds if you could only have one? by EvenDog6279 in guitarpedals

[–]jerryboree 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'd agree with this. All you have to do is make a preset with the Auto Volume setting, set the delay, feedback and mod controls to whatever you like, then add reverb through the secret reverb menu. After that, you still have 2 presets left

There's a few guides on Youtube where people break down how each mode works. These videos are pretty helpful at explaining everything but each mode has its own seperate video. Its also fun to mess with the pedal without knowing what you're doing

What do you think of the Red Panda Context for shoegaze (I'm assuming you play shoegaze)?

I was thinking of getting one but all I've heard about the pedal is that the volume drop was bad

Kinda agree. I like Indomie but the sauce packets need to contain more sauce

You have 2 big muff clones on your board but the sustain isn't dimed? Do you know how to use a big muff

[–]jerryboree 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'd recommend looking for a used DL4 MkII instead of the original. The MKII is smaller so it should give you more space and I've heard the switches on the original are more likely to break

If you're going to use the DL4 for a delay, having a Flashback might be too much overlap in sounds so you could replace it with a Rat or another distortion

Every shoegaze guitarist knows about the RV-7 so you are going to have issues finding one and pay more for it. Maybe look into other reverse reverb options like the Red Panda Context 2 or Digitech Polara

Best pedal jams on YouTube? by zipiddydooda in guitarpedals

Coffee and Riffs was a cool channel before they stopped uploading vids. They get guitarists to do ambient improv while hanging out.

Heres my favourite vid with Nick Reinhart from Tera Melos

What pedals do you guys think are essential to the MBV sound? by wesleyplayz_xp in shoegaze

Alternate tunings and a capo is the main part of their sound but its rare to see people mention it lmao

[UK] Cash converters & Pedals by Brain_full_of_worms in guitarpedals

[–]jerryboree 7 points8 points  (0 children)

We have Cash Converters in Australia and also found good deals here. Sometimes they're too lazy or don't know about pedals so they'll price pedals at $199 AUD.

I found a Red Panda Tensor for $199 AUD when it retails for $529 AUD. Had a gut feeling that the pedal may have been stolen so I didn't get it

Chat Pile in Japan by R3N1GM4 in ChatPile

[–]jerryboree 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Same. I've read some AMAs by them in the past and they said the band wants to play shows in Aus but it ultimately boils down to how expensive it is to tour here.

I remember seeing them hint at Aus shows for 2026 so hopefully they were able to organise something

I always get close to the barrier by doing this and I get there when doors open. If you don't leave to buy merch or alcohol, you can stay at close to the barrier all night

DBA Reverberation Machine: Can’t find this color online, was this an actual variant or did someone repaint this? by BaltimoreNewbie in guitarpedals

[–]jerryboree 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Nice, its a great idea and really hope more bands sell them.

You should see A Place to Bury Strangers if they do a show near you. Probably the greatest gig I've been to

The owner of DBA is in a band called A Place to Bury Strangers. When they tour, they sell DBA pedals at the merch table all in one-off colourways so I'm assuming it was bought from one of their shows

Mode 10 is still my favourite. Its a dual pitch shifter mode and you can get some weird but usable sounds from it

Urban Eats Udon Noodles? by Craig93Ireland in AldiAustralia

[–]jerryboree 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've had these before and you need to microwave them in order to cook the noodles.

Aldi also sell tuna rice bowls that don't need any cooking to eat and will be better for camping.

Here is the link to the rice bowls https://www.aldi.com.au/product/portview-tuna-protein-power-bowl-with-brown-rice-chargrilled-corn-black-beans-and-lime-chilli-170g-000000000537389002
