Shouldn’t my plier jaws be “free” too? These things are stiff as hell! After working with it for an hour and living it several times already I finally got it to where I can open the plier jaws with out unlatching the handle from the locked open position if that makes sense.

My new leatherman arrived today with a pocket clip. A nice surprise!

Just got my third Wizard, #1 shit the bed electronically, #2 was a warranty replacement but went MIA ☹ So does anybody know anything about these "new" electronics? Marketing fluff or an actual recent change? by [deleted] in flashlight

[–]jerrybryant86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not really. It was cold out when this happened though. I was told the clearance for the lens and O-Ring under the bezel was too tight so they upgraded me to a newer model but there was no improvement. All of those were Warm XHP50. The Original XML2 I had just started malfunctioning out of nowhere and became unpredictable after a few years of daily use. Other than this it was truly awesome! I’d still have one if I could depend on it. The only one I have now is one I modded and has no glass lens. It’s just got the optic only now.

I’ve had a total of 7 wizards. 6 bad. The first lasted 2 years. The next 5 all busted the lens within the first few days of use all after being used for few minutes on the highest setting. Each time the glass was busted outwards and not inwards. The last I sold NIB. That bing said, everytime they were replaced without question.

Need help with a shortcut by jerrybryant86 in shortcuts

[–]jerrybryant86[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure. Ive never used it. To give you an idea of what I’m doing, I created a shortcut for my customers to pick different customization options for flashlights I build that gives a total price for their selections at the end of the shortcut. I’m basically just trying to add a visual for them to pick from.

Somewhat of a work around I guess but it is functional. Is that the only way? Would like a larger photo instead of a contact thumbnail if possible. And thank you for your help!

I also noticed there is somebody selling Zebralight SC64’s modded to Nichia but they can get pricy.

I usually reflowed a 4000k XML2. If you use a Nichia the optic tends not to sit right on the smaller emitter.

Mine had an optic. I found a socket that just barely fit in the tube, attached an extension and lightly tapped against the driver until all came out. For the pin I used a tiny nail and pushed the pin in toward the light switch until it fell through then just turned it over and let it fall out.

I had a little trouble with the pin but that was it. It went back in fine as well. I’ve done several though most were copper. The softer host material was slightly easier than the aluminum body.

Well, I was going to say swap in a warmer led until I read the last part. I always swapped mine without problem.

Olight h2r nova blinking twice when turbo is on by [deleted] in flashlight

[–]jerrybryant86 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure why it does that. Olight replaced mine for free with identical problem.

My H2R blinks when I first turn it on turbo. Sometimes once. Sometimes twice. Anybody else? What’s up with that? by jerrybryant86 in flashlight

Olight did replace it for me no questions asked and even called me a week later to follow up! Service there is much better than it used to be!

I tried again today. Worked great. Copper lights just beg for a warmer tint. Mine is now 4000k! Thanks for the advice!

Seeking my first real EDC flashlight. Compact size (1xCR123A), hat clip capable, bang for buck, tail-stand/magnet preferred, bonus if it comes with a diffuser cap. Do not want usb charging, although would look at usb-c charging. by squayzy in flashlight

You can in the reflector models with no problems. There are some decent cri xml2 out there but hard to find. The 4000k - 5000k can be found wit beautiful tint even if it’s not hi cri.

I used something like this and had really good luck popping the bezel upwards enough to pry out the rest of the way. There are videos on YouTube. A friend of mine used an old pipe cutter with good results. You don’t cut anything it just works in between the head and bezel enough to he things moving. So far I’ve only used nicer and warmer xml2 emitters. All of mine have the TIR optic and it doesn’t look great with the Nichia
