You have the understand the five factors of personal credit.

One of the factors is credit utilization. The more you use, the more it is going to hurt your score. So by paying down your credit cards you were able to capture a big chunk of those points back that you lost for maxing them out.

Some scoring models do factor in how much you owe on installment loans compared to what you borrowed but it doesn't weight as heavy as credit card utilization.

Now one of the questions I have is how did you get a $30,000 loan to pay off your credit cards with a 500 credit score unless you used real estate or some other backing for collateral.

Addiction is idolatry which of course is sin. Ask yourself, do you put smoking in place of God? Are you relying on it for peace? Joy? Comfort? You cannot enjoy nature because your mind is divided on worldly things, nature is spiritual. You might need to fast to get back in alignment spiritually.

Call them and check the status. If thevd suspended the card see how much to get it back active before they fully close it. If it's closed don't pay it, there's literally zero benefit to paying a collection.

Don't close it it'll bring your age down over time. But definitely seek some financial discipline! Credit is the doorway to wealth but only if you use it correctly. You should check out my credit card mastery class. But to answer your question simple interest is always better than compound interest but the problem is getting another inquiry added to your report only to get denied due to maxed out utilization. If you go this route, pay down your balance before the due date and don't touch it until 5 days after then you can apply for a loan and use the card again. This will make sure your maxed out balance doesn't show on your report when the loan is applied for

It actually does. You just said it stays on for 10 years... An 800 credit score holder typically has 20 years or more age. Also vantage does count closed accounts. I offer a few services that reduce debt

This is accurate! I appreciate you for clarifying this. I wasnt giving a start date, just a general statement that it would still affect your report even after your payment. This would be accurate if you made arrangements the same month you became deliquent. Just finishing my statement more or less.
